Today’s young people are the first generation who has never known a world without HIV and AIDS. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in 2010, young people ages 13 to 24 years old made up 17% of the US population, but accounted for an estimated 26% (12,200) of all new HIV infections (47,500) in the United States. 1 in 4 new HIV infections occurs in youth ages 13 to 24 years.
Today's young people are the first generation who have never known a world without HIV and AIDS. In the United States, one in three new HIV infections is among youth ages 13 to 24. Despite this harsh reality, young people and their allies are determined to end this pandemic once and for all.

The Sixth Stocktaking Report accounts for both progress made and setbacks identified in the last two years. Globally countries have made more inroads on new HIV infections among children since 2011 than in the previous decade, but the rate of slowing new infections isn't yet on track to meet Millennium Development Goal 6 by its 2015 deadline.

AIDSAware is a first of its kind awareness movement which is a joint collaboration between PT Foundation and ruumzcauses whereby the public themselves become the vehicle for creating and spreading AIDS awareness utilizing social media, by taking a picture of themselves holding a AIDS/HIV related message on a piece of paper or card and posting and sharing their "photo messages" online. It incorporates a Public Service Announcement (PSA) angle whereby 42 prominent personalities and celebrities got together for free to shoot high quality photos holding their own messages on AIDS in the vein of the "Got Milk?" campaign from the United States. These shots will be compiled into a calendar and posters for PSAs etc.
Behind the scene videos and celebrity video messages were also shot and will be shared online to raise awareness and encourage further participation. The project hopes not only to create more awareness on HIV and AIDS prevention, but also to make it less taboo to discuss and talk about HIV and AIDS. Aidsaware advocates safer sex and not discriminating against people living with HIV. The target is to collect 13,000 photo messages by end December 2010 (as 13,000 Malaysians have already died from AIDS)
We aim to collect the largest public awareness photo exhibition from people of all walks of life, urging them to take their own "mug shots" or photos with their own hand written messages about HIV/AIDS.
PT Foundation will be going on ground to colleges, and shopping centres, educating the youth on HIV awareness. The video of celebs taking their own shots are aimed at encouraging participation and breaking past the taboo of the topic.
We are aiming for these shots to be printed and displayed in a photographic exhibition in a high traffic public area in January 2011.

Effective Public Health Communication in an Interconnected World: Enhancing R...The Rockefeller Foundation
The public health communication community has more tools and mechanisms at its disposal than ever before, but we are also facing increasingly complex public health challenges ushered in by globalization, urbanization, conflict, and connective technologies. We are connected in unprecedented ways, but despite this fact there remains a lack of consistent and coherent communication among responders, within health systems and across the public domain.
In light of this persistent problem, KYNE and News Deeply, supported by The Rockefeller Foundation, convened a meeting on Effective Public Health Communication in an Interconnected World: Enhancing Resilience to Health Crises, held at the Bellagio Center in Bellagio, Italy, in October 2015. At the convening, 18 experts in communication, public health, and emergency response came together to detail areas of alignment and gaps.
This report seeks to distill those lessons learned and contribute to the research base on public health communication in times of crisis, by detailing key takeaways from the convening. News Deeply also conducted interviews with participants, as well as external reviews with community organizations and leaders, to inform the body of the report. In addition, we have synthesized case studies from three participants across different regional contexts: the 2013–15 Ebola crisis in West Africa, the SARS epidemic of 2003 in Singapore, and the 2015 Legionnaires’ disease outbreak in New York City.

He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

3. PY1's Mission To increase Awareness, Education and Prevention of HIV and related diseases by using entertainment, nature, animals, art, and events to foster a sense of individual responsibility that encourages positive health behavioral change among the general public.
4. PY1's Goals To decrease the taboos, myths and stigma associated with the HIV virus. To lower the number of new infections and reduce HIV transmission.
5. PY1 is a media driven agency with a focus on providing HIV Awareness, Education and Prevention in innovative ways. PY1 has a history of development and implementation of social marketing media campaigns and services in Baltimore, Maryland and regionally.
6. PY1's Virtual Presence Since 2011, PY1 is headquartered on Nonprofit Commons , a nonprofit archipelago in Second Life. The Nonprofit Commons is managed by a community of volunteers, under the leadership of TechSoup Global: http://www.techsoup.org. As the most frequently used virtual world platform, Second Life has about 6.9 million registered users all over the world. With a scope of this magnitude, PY1 is ready to establish a working presence within this virtual environment.
7. Benefits of Virtual Presence The presence of PY1’s headquarters in Second Life will provide invaluable opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration between in-world educators, nonprofits colleagues, and health intervention professionals.
8. PY1's Vision It is hoped that PY1’s presence in Second Life will enhance our ongoing learning and application of 3-D technology which will promote PY1’s objectives to provide HIV and STD Awareness, Education and Prevention for the targeted at risk population.
9. PY1 In Second Life Nonprofit Commons (TechSoup) SLurl: Location-Based Linking in Second Life (http://slurl.com/secondlife/Aloft%20Nonprofit%20Commons/236/169/24)
10. PY1's Educational and Entertainment Program features , Safe2Live, a social marketing media campaign providing HIV and STD Awareness Education and Prevention for underserved at risk populations. The campaign is a success within various real life (RL) settings.
12. Safe2Live features a Mobile Puppet Theater (MPT) which offers a fun, entertaining, and interactive outreach for educating youth ( ages 8-13) in targeted communities that are at-risk for HIV/AIDS transmission. The effectiveness of the Safe2Live’s Mobile Puppet Theater, a science-based program, is proven by the documented results of the pre and post surveys.
14. PY1 in OpenSim: (JokaydiaGRID) Safe2live is a case study project existing in a clearly defined virtual world platform… OpenSim. The Safe2live Campaign and its Mobile Puppet Theater is managed within the OpenSim grid, JokaydiaGRID, due to the campaign’s targeted population of youth 8-13 years.
15. Why OpenSim? While Second Life prohibits access to individuals 12 years and under, it is completely unusable for elementary school populations. Since the targeted youth population will not be able to use Second Life, OpenSim is the ideal option for elementary school students, teachers, and parents looking to experience a 3D science-based learning.
16. Once the Mobile Puppet Theater characters are integrated into the OpenSim virtual world platform, they will help educate youth and the targeted audiences via self-paced games, videos, information note cards, themed music and self-paced quizzes.
17. The targeted population and visitors will also be able to interact with the characters and learn about HIV in a fun and entertaining way.
18. Creating the Safe2live in OpenSim will allow the campaign to provide information, resources and support for under-served populations nationally and internationally.
19. The creation of virtual-based Safe2live e-learning experience gives community stakeholders, community based organizations, educators and parents another way to educate youth about HIV and STD prevention, HIV/AIDS-associated stigma, and commonly associated challenges related to the AIDS epidemic.

21. Protect Yourself 1, Inc. realizes that when we educate our youth, we also protect the future of our communities and nation. The more pre-adolescents are informed and made aware of safe choices, the more the incidence of HIV and Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) can be reduced in our communities. And, subsequently, the quality of life there can be improved. Educating youth at a young age, and showing a respect for their knowledge, is what is needed to help avoid an increase of HIV and STD infections.
