3. Purnea University is a formation of a bifurcation of the
Bhupendra Naraya Manda Univeisty. The University is
named after Purnea In Bihar. Therefore it is clear that the
university has Jurisdiction over Purnea and the adjoining
districts Araria, Kishanganj, and Katihar. Moreover, the
university is presently running from its temporary setup at
Purnea college. However, Purnea University is soon to shift
to its permanent campus. The permanent proposed campus
will have state-of-the-art facilities at its disposal. Facilities
like, Hostel, Library, Sports complex, Placement Cell, and

campus at Purnea college. However, as soon as the
declaration of the University took place The construction
work for the university also took place. The university
presently utilizes the facilities available at its campus

10. The University is fairly new is established in 2018. However,
this does not necessarily mean the university’s history will be
new. In other words, the university inherited colleges from the
B.N. Mandal University which means the history of the
university although fairly new might add a tinge of oldness as
the constituent and affiliated colleges are fairly old. Moreover,
the university’s actual history goes back to 2016 when
discussions were made at the ministry level regarding setting
up a university at Purnea Division. Thus the discussions led to
the passing of bills in the parliament in 2016. The amendment
so passed BSU ACT 2016 was notified and on 18th March B.N
Mandl University was bifurcated and thus Purnea University
was formed.
In its recent past, the University has already made decisions
regarding its permanent campus and formulated academic
centers and administration centers successfully which will result
in a smooth transition of the university.
