The most difficult part of house-training a puppy is to train them for potty. It is very important to potty train them for your hygiene and to prevent your home from soiling.

Defecation
Normal defecation begins with movement in the left colon, moving stool toward the anus. When stool reaches the rectum, the distention causes relaxation of the internal sphincter and an awareness of the need to defecate. At the time of defecation, the external sphincter relaxes, and abdominal muscles contract, increasing intrarectal pressure and forcing the stool out
The Valsalva maneuver exerts pressure to expel faeces through a voluntary contraction of the abdominal muscles while maintaining forced expiration against a closed airway. Patients with cardiovascular disease, glaucoma, increased intracranial pressure, or a new surgical wound are at greater risk for cardiac dysrhythmias and elevated blood pressure with the Valsalva maneuver and need to avoid straining to pass the stool.
Normal defecation is painless, resulting in passage of soft, formed stool
CONSTIPATION
Constipation is a symptom, not a disease. Improper diet, reduced fluid intake, lack of exercise, and certain medications can cause constipation. For example, patients receiving opiates for pain after surgery often require a stool softener or laxative to prevent constipation. The signs of constipation include infrequent bowel movements (less than every 3 days), difficulty passing stools, excessive straining, inability to defecate at will, and hard feaces
IMPACTION
Fecal impaction results from unrelieved constipation. It is a collection of hardened feces wedged in the rectum that a person cannot expel. In cases of severe impaction the mass extends up into the sigmoid colon.
DIARRHEA
Diarrhea is an increase in the number of stools and the passage of liquid, unformed feces. It is associated with disorders affecting digestion, absorption, and secretion in the GI tract. Intestinal contents pass through the small and large intestine too quickly to allow for the usual absorption of fluid and nutrients. Irritation within the colon results in increased mucus secretion. As a result, feces become watery, and the patient is unable to control the urge to defecate. Normally an anal bag is safe and effective in long-term treatment of patients with fecal incontinence at home, in hospice, or in the hospital. Fecal incontinence is expensive and a potentially dangerous condition in terms of contamination and risk of skin ulceration
HEMORRHOIDS
Hemorrhoids are dilated, engorged veins in the lining of the rectum. They are either external or internal.
FLATULENCE
As gas accumulates in the lumen of the intestines, the bowel wall stretches and distends (flatulence). It is a common cause of abdominal fullness, pain, and cramping. Normally intestinal gas escapes through the mouth (belching) or the anus (passing of flatus)
FECAL INCONTINENCE
Fecal incontinence is the inability to control passage of feces and gas from the anus. Incontinence harms a patient’s body image

2. Puppies are highly energetic. They need food often as
they have a higher metabolism rate. And with
frequent consumption of food comes the frequent
poop sessions. If you want to prevent abrupt soiling
of your puppies, stick to a feeding schedule. A puppy
may need to be fed four times a day. Plan the hours,
quantity and the type of food for the whole day and
stick to it. In this way, you will be able to time his
potty and pee sessions easily. The digestive system
will get used to the timings and the type of food
which will be an advantage for your puppy’s health.
This is a tip that you have to stick to and a slight
variation may create a hurdle in the potty training of
your pup.
3. Choose a location where you can place the litter
box every day. This place should be a bit open
where the poop odor does not hassle you. If you
are living in a high-rise apartment, probably you
will have to keep it inside your apartment.
Though, you have an option of a balcony. Pet
parents living in a bungalow should keep it
outdoors, but not very far from your door. A
constant location will help your puppies in
locating it easily and it would be easy to
remember for him. So, after a few months, your
pup will run straight away to the litter box.
4. Adult dogs can control their eliminating urges better
than the pups. Puppies do not have that control and
whenever they feel the need to eliminate, they just
squat and get into the business. They need to pee
almost every hour and poop after every meal. Walk
them to the litter box every hour; after they have
their meal; and at both ends of the day, i.e. as soon
as they get up and before they snooze off. If you do
so, they will gradually start understanding their
eliminating sensations and that they have to excrete
at a definite place. When you take them to litter box,
keep your route the same. Walk through the same
route and this will help them remember where they
have to walk down to eliminate.
5. Puppies sniff the ground and circle around
before they squat. Have a constant watch on
your puppies, especially after they are fed. If
you see him doing any of the signs, make him
understand where he has to go when he has
to eliminate. Walk him to the litter box
whenever you see him sniffing the ground or
circling around.
6. Puppies tend to get distracted easily as
everything around is very new and exciting
for them. It is better to keep them on leash
when you take them to poop. Or else, they
will start playing. Use some definite
commands like “get on business” or “potty”
etc. By naming the deed, he will start to
understand the command and eliminate
easily.
7. Whenever your pup eliminates at a right
place, give him a different treat. This will let
them know that it is great what he did. He
might do the same next time and eventually it
will become his habit. Never scold them if
they soil your home sometimes. Instead
startle them by going there abruptly and take
them to the litter box.
