Erik R. Pages gave a presentation at the VCEN Conference in Roanoke, VA on June 3rd, 2014. He discussed how entrepreneurship is being embraced more at various government levels, but that sustaining programs is difficult given budget cuts. He suggested communities promote entrepreneurship, invest in support services, build the pipeline of future entrepreneurs, and improve access to capital. Finally, he offered specific actions communities can take to support local entrepreneurs, such as becoming an information resource, catalyzing support networks, and engaging local educators.
Today, not for profit sector (NFP) sector is growing in importance all over the world; and it is bigger than people generally realize. It is estimated that the sector comprises around 40% of Europe’s GDP.
In the world, there is an unknown number of such organizations. For example, estimates suggest that there are 1 million to 2 million NFPs in India alone. They may be government institutions, large charities (like WWF) or very small organizations.
One of the distinguishing features of NFPs is that there is normally a disconnection between the acquisition of resources and their use. This means that the money to provide the services does not come from the recipient of those services.
This presentation gives an outline of the Big Lottery Fund's investing in Communiites programme, including specific information on the outcomes the fund hopes to achieve.

The demand for measurable fundraising success in the nonprofit world points to a need for research-based fundraising models that can help development directors choose the right practices based on their nonprofit’s circumstances. In this study, five popular fundraising practices -- conditional ask-strings, giving clubs, matching campaigns, sustainer programs, and second-gift asks -- are examined using organizational revenue as the continuous, dependent variable. The study sets out to determine if there is a difference in organizational revenue based on the extent to which nonprofits use these practices. Organizations that employed strategic use of the five individual giving fundraising practices outperformed their less strategic counterparts and experienced higher revenue. These findings contribute to a better understanding of what leads some organizations to outperform others and achieve financial stability. In addition to informing management decisions surrounding fundraising practices, this investigation highlights the potential of a modeling framework for predicting success to explain why some organizations succeed in fundraising more than others and which practices fit conditions found in advocacy organization.
Pay-for-Success Initiatives for Early Childhood Programsmdanielsfirstfocus
Evidence-based early childhood programs, such as home visiting and high-quality preschool, hold enormous promise to improve the early health, education, and development of at-risk children, helping them and their parents break the cycle of intergenerational poverty. Although Congress has increased investments in early childhood programs, these services reach only a fraction of the low-income children and families who could benefit from them. Pay-for-success initiatives, in which the government pays for set outcomes rather than social services, is quickly becoming a mechanism for local and state governments to finance evidence-based early childhood services for children and families. This webinar describes the basic concepts of pay-for-success initiatives and explores the goals, components, and status of three pay-for-success projects currently in development and in operation involving preschool and home visiting programs.
The presentation was a workshop at Evolve 2014: the annual event for the voluntary sector in London on Monday 16 June 2014.
The presentation was chaired by Anna Bloch from Charity Finance Group and shares highlights of how charities have adapted and are continuing to adapt to the climate, covering reductions in statutory funding and new fundraising strategies.

Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).
Memorandum Of Association Constitution of Company.pptseri bangash
www.seribangash.com
A Memorandum of Association (MOA) is a legal document that outlines the fundamental principles and objectives upon which a company operates. It serves as the company's charter or constitution and defines the scope of its activities. Here's a detailed note on the MOA:
Contents of Memorandum of Association:
Name Clause: This clause states the name of the company, which should end with words like "Limited" or "Ltd." for a public limited company and "Private Limited" or "Pvt. Ltd." for a private limited company.
https://seribangash.com/article-of-association-is-legal-doc-of-company/
Registered Office Clause: It specifies the location where the company's registered office is situated. This office is where all official communications and notices are sent.
Objective Clause: This clause delineates the main objectives for which the company is formed. It's important to define these objectives clearly, as the company cannot undertake activities beyond those mentioned in this clause.

Liability Clause: It outlines the extent of liability of the company's members. In the case of companies limited by shares, the liability of members is limited to the amount unpaid on their shares. For companies limited by guarantee, members' liability is limited to the amount they undertake to contribute if the company is wound up.

Capital Clause: This clause specifies the authorized capital of the company, i.e., the maximum amount of share capital the company is authorized to issue. It also mentions the division of this capital into shares and their respective nominal value.
Association Clause: It simply states that the subscribers wish to form a company and agree to become members of it, in accordance with the terms of the MOA.
Importance of Memorandum of Association:
Legal Requirement: The MOA is a legal requirement for the formation of a company. It must be filed with the Registrar of Companies during the incorporation process.
Constitutional Document: It serves as the company's constitutional document, defining its scope, powers, and limitations.
Protection of Members: It protects the interests of the company's members by clearly defining the objectives and limiting their liability.
External Communication: It provides clarity to external parties, such as investors, creditors, and regulatory authorities, regarding the company's objectives and powers.
https://seribangash.com/difference-public-and-private-company-law/
Binding Authority: The company and its members are bound by the provisions of the MOA. Any action taken beyond its scope may be considered ultra vires (beyond the powers) of the company and therefore void.
Amendment of MOA:
While the MOA lays down the company's fundamental principles, it is not entirely immutable. It can be amended, but only under specific circumstances and in compliance with legal procedures. Amendments typically require shareholder
