The Pantry, Inc. is the largest independently operated convenience store chain in the southeastern US, operating 1,361 stores across 10 states. In 2004, The Pantry achieved record financial results, with $3.5 billion in total revenue, double the net income of the previous year. Key accomplishments in 2004 included acquiring 138 additional Golden Gallon stores, refinancing debt at lower interest rates, converting over 400 stores to the Kangaroo Express brand, and expanding private label product offerings. The Pantry aims to continue growing organically and through acquisitions by focusing on merchandising initiatives, gasoline operations, and food service.
