Psychogeography
Shannon Horton created psychogeographical projects mapping the moods, atmospheres, and memories associated with Melton Mowbray. They recorded these elements in a written poem and edited film, using editing tools to affirm the senses created by certain locations. They used a "Choosing Star" random algorithm and covered parallel moods through two videos - one associating positive memories with Melton and one negative memories, resulting in one macabre video upholding a dislike of the place and one showing more positive aspects. Quotes from interviews helped shape the pieces, discussing both cursed and happy memories of the changing town.
