Editor's Notes
Start with sonal’s video.. So now you know how she started the organization folks She thought why develop a rote education, when you can bring some colour into a child’s life.. That’s when the art based curriculum started.. - It was not enough to just educate girls, we had to encourage their mothers as well.. Because these are the women who will send their children to school… we started the project streeAlthough protsahan was initiated in June 2010 by a member of IIT AAS, Protsahan kick-starts in March 2012
Project Educare has so far reached out to 300 girls and 50 drug abuse chilldren Artisan honour is the self-sustainability angle for protsahan.. It helps rural artisans empower themselves and we sustain project stree and project educare through the sales of such productsProject stree is to empower a woman from an urban slum to stand up by herself in the family. When the women is empowered she automatically encourages a child to study
Hope this is v clear
Its easy to understand no ? We don’t need to complicate how we do it etc.. Do let me know ! The Need : For mothers to send their children to school and sustain the family themselvesThe Motivation: Products are sold at exhibitions and sometimes mothers sell products themselves
Encouraging Artisans from India to churn out Protsahan’s merchandise. The Need: This acts as means for part self-sustainability for Protsahan’s projects.Contemporary designs are generated by Protsahan’s creative team. The Designs are then utilized by artisans to generate Protsahan’s merchandise.Distribution channel for the products is stretched as far as Singapore, South Africa and the USA. These are done through different retail and e-commerce companies.
