as regular road legal vehicles.

Ford Oasis, where adults can do the test driving, but it’s a show for the whole family.
Ford obstacle course will be demonstrating stability, suspension, Manoeuvrability,
traction, torque,braking and GO FURTHERf.
*we highly recommend to have a professional 4x4 drivers taking the visitors through
the breath-taking course.
TRACTION
Traction is the grip that your car’s tires have on the road, which is needed to accelerate,
turn and brake. If your car, or more specifically, your tires have little or no grip; your
car will not accelerate, turn or brake and will skid. Traction control devices in the car
will help prevent this loss of grip so your tires will have traction to accelerate, turn and
brake.
A three meters height ramp with rocks-slope to show off the Ford’s excellent “articu-
lation,” which means that when some wheels start spinning, the others help out, big
time.
MANEUVERABILITY
a “ground clearance” obstacle,
which consisted of several logs
laid out on the road. this will
amaze your guests how Ford’s
Vehicles handle these–with
aplomb!
Poles - Large poles and sand
ramps placed to force varied
suspension articulation and to
replicate a difficult trial
Sluice – Rocks of varying seize placed
randomly on a steep angle to offer a sig-
nificant challenge.....
A dip in the “road” filled with water,
This will help to demonstrate how
the Ford’s can handle this “water
fording” foray perfectly through-
out the day.
SUSPENSION
The job of a car suspension is to maxi-
mize the friction between the tires and
the road surface, to provide steering sta-
bility with good handling and to ensure
the comfort of the passengers.
Other exciting obstacles are The Wood
Logs and the Trench Drive, which brings
FORD’s axle articulation and suspen-
sion flex into play on some truly gruel-
ling off-road conditions.
There’s no better way for customers to
get the feel for what a Ford can actually
do than by testing it to the limits at the
Ford Oasis. Ford Oasis is the first of its
kind in the entire GCC region!
Before going off-roading, you’ll want to be familiar with three different angles on your
car: the approach angle, the departure angle and the break-over angle. Knowing your
vehicle’s angles will help to keep you from scraping it on rocks and other obstacles or
getting stuck.
This beginner Course for stock and lightly modified vehicles and drivers with limited
or no off-road driving experience; no special tires are needed. You’ll still want a higher-
riding car, however, because there’s a small rocks and hills that a lower car might not
be able to clear.
Approach Angle
The maximum angle a vehicle can approach an obstacle without any part of the vehicle
striking that obstacle.
Departure Angle
The maximum angle a vehicle can leave an obstacle without any part of the vehicle
striking that obstacle.
Break-over Angle
The maximum angle a vehicle can ride over without striking the obstacle between its
axles. The longer the wheelbase the larger this angle is. On some vehicles, parts of the
transmission protrude below the chassis and this has a detrimental effect on the break-
over angle.
