The document describes Project Smart Garden, which aims to create an automated hydroponic garden system. The system would utilize modular growing domes and seed pods to allow users to grow vegetables with minimal effort. A mobile app would monitor plant growth and notify users of maintenance needs. The system is designed to allow users to harvest one green smoothie's worth of vegetables per day. Market research found demand for such a system among those interested in juicing but lacking time for traditional gardening. The document outlines the technical design and business plan to market the Smart Garden system against existing competitors.
The document proposes a smart garden system called Project Smart Garden. It would provide an easy and efficient automated hydroponic garden that can be monitored through a smartphone. The system aims to address issues like lack of time for gardening and demand for healthy food options. It would use modular domes, sensors, pumps and an app to help users grow vegetables hydroponically with minimal effort. The team envisions selling the system online and to local juicing shops to tap into the growing market for home juicing and green smoothies.
This document presents a proposal for a smart garden system called Smart Garden. The system would use sensors and WiFi to remotely monitor soil conditions and control watering and other functions to take care of plants even when owners are absent. The objectives are to become the best smart garden product in India and globally, satisfy customers with quality products, and earn profits from the first year. Key features would make it convenient to reduce costs and power use while increasing garden productivity with healthy vegetables at home. Market segmentation would target middle and upper-class residents in major North Indian cities. The system would provide plant recommendations, collect sensor data for remote monitoring and analysis to make effective decisions for control.

Garden landscaping requires planning and maintenance. Proper design can make spaces appear more spacious and enhance a home's appeal. Sketching designs first allows seeing what a project entails. Landscaping adds value, beauty, and privacy to residential or commercial properties. It also allows growing herbs and food. Choosing low-maintenance plants that require less water creates environmentally friendly landscapes.
This document summarizes a student project analyzing electric vehicle driving efficiency and path planning using modular battery technology. The project aims to demonstrate the feasibility of a swappable modular battery solution. Key tasks include verifying slope calculations using GPS and acceleration data, determining the rolling coefficient of roads, measuring wind velocity with a pitot tube, and creating a road map with battery exchange stops for a cross-country drive. Experiments will analyze data from test drives to understand power consumption based on road conditions and maximize electrical to mechanical power conversion.
The document describes an experiment that tested the effects of tilt, shading, and temperature on photovoltaic panel performance. It found that tilting the panels at 52 degrees produced the highest power output. Horizontally shading cells had a more linear effect on efficiency than vertical shading. The panel's efficiency increased by 0.076% for every degree Celsius of temperature reduction.
This document describes an experiment to study the effects of buoyancy and momentum on thermal plumes. Warm dyed water was pumped into a tank of cooler water at two different flow rates, creating thermal plumes. A thermocouple array measured temperature profiles in the plumes, which were used to calculate reduced gravities, buoyancy fluxes, and momentum fluxes. The Morton length scale was determined for each flow rate, showing one plume was momentum-dominated and one was buoyancy-dominated. Temperature profiles, normalized reduced buoyancy plots, and centerline reduced buoyancy plots were analyzed to characterize the thermal structure and test scaling laws of the plumes.
The document describes an experiment measuring wind speed, temperature, and net radiation using sonic anemometers and a net radiometer. Over two weeks, the sensors were installed, tested, and collected data for 20 minutes. The data was analyzed in MATLAB and average velocities, temperatures, heat fluxes, and the wind velocity profile were calculated. Relating wind speeds to heat transfer helped determine how solar energy is distributed by atmospheric turbulence.

Introduction to the 6-month Indoor Gardening Program by Eco EvolverEmilio Gagliardi, MSc
This document is the slide deck for a webinar. It contains information about the importance of indoor gardening, the common pitfalls, and how a new 6-month program intends to make indoor gardening accessible to new gardeners.
You can listen to the webinar here: http://ecoevolver.com/webinars/thank-you-6-month-program/
#Vegetables should be part of everyone’s diet. If you don’t want to spend a little
bit more for those organically grown and sold in the supermarket, perhaps you
should consider planting your own in the garden. It is very easy to do that even
your kids can join in the fun.
Organic vegetable gardening is the “in thing” these days as people have
realized that the use of fertilizers and pesticides do more harm than good. Yes
it will make the vegetables bigger or enable the farmer to harvest them faster
but the chemicals used in making this happen could be detrimental to the
health of those who eat it.
Organic vegetable gardening seems to be the trend these days as more people
have become conscious of what they are eating. This is because conventional
methods which involve the use of harmful chemicals may enter our systems.
In order to control the problem, the US Department of Agriculture has issues a
new directive. This encourages farmers to shift to organic farming.
#Organic gardening can very well pass up as a hobby for starters. This can be
true if you are the type of person who has the passion for gardening. This may
not be everybody's cup of tea. So consider yourself lucky if you are among
those who can grow green things out of the blue.
Gardening requires certain skills. You have to know the type of soil, what kind
of plants you can place on them, how you will take care of those plants, aside
from the many other considerations that you must be aware of when you are
serious about it.
It may sound complicated enough for the beginners. But if you have been
marked as the one with a green thumb and you've already honed you skills on
this, then you might as well try the organic way of gardening. This method is
particularly special as well as hard. It will require you to double your effort as
compared with the regular stuff that you do with the usual gardening tricks.
#Organic gardening really entails a lot of hard work. So you better be prepared
to perspire in the process. To ease your tiredness when you are already into it
too deep, just think that what you are doing is helping nature. This is your way
of giving back what nature has bestowed on you since the day you were born.
#A good garden aficionado must know that cultivation or weeding is effective
for growth control. Weeds are your garden's most persistent and cloying
enemy. You need to be able to know how to handle weeds in order to foster
growth control for your organic garden. If you let weeds take over, they will
completely obliterate your capacity to yield a rich number of vegetables.
They are the number one stealer of nutrients, sunlight and revenue for
farmers, so the earlier you try to eliminate them, the better will it be for your
gardening. This can eat up your time to such extremes at certain seasons, but
monitoring weeds and eliminating them is definitely worth your time and
effort.

It details how the system uses soil moisture and temperature sensors to determine when to water different zones of the garden using a solar-powered control system. The automated irrigation system was implemented to improve crop growth and health through proper watering. Test results showed that the system successfully watered each zone according to set parameters and collected data on soil conditions, with the goal of supporting the community garden's production of vegetables for those in need.

Container Vegetable Gardening: Healthy Harvests from Small Spaces - Universit...Kardatou54a
Container vegetable gardening allows people to grow their own organic produce even with limited space. Some key advantages include being able to garden anywhere, including balconies and decks. Container gardens are also virtually weed-free and make it easier to control water, sunlight, and nutrients. With the right containers, growing media, water, and fertilizer, home gardeners can successfully grow a variety of vegetables and herbs in containers year-round.
1) The document discusses growing vegetables and trees in simple containers on windowsills as a way to combat desertification and lack of nutrition.
2) It promotes growing food in pots inside houses and classrooms as an inexpensive way to have access to fresh food without needing water or fertile soil.
3) The document argues that growing container gardens could help solve malnutrition simply and cheaply if implemented on a wider scale, especially in desert regions.

Juicing Cost comparison
Taking a look at the cost of juicing with produce sourced from a local supermarket vs.
sourced from the smart garden we see that in a year there will be savings of $1350.50, which is
more than double the price of the basic module, it will pay for itself within half a year.

3. Market Research
For our customer discovery, the team visited local juice bars and interviewed both
customers and employees for insight into their eating and juicing needs as well as getting
feedback of the concept of our product. The team interviewed 41 people between the ages of 20
and 40, of those 80% juiced at home, 80% were more likely to choose organic over nonorganic
produce, and 100% of those who don’t garden at home do not because they don’t have the time
to commit to gardening. All interviewed said that this would be a useful and helpful product to
have. Previously we were considering implementing aquaponics (the use of live fish in a
reservoir as a fertilizer) but 72% did not like the idea of it. The vegetables that the majority said
they used on a weekly basis were spinach, kale, tomatoes, cucumbers, mint, lettuce, and cabbage.
We will first focus on these vegetables before expanding to a wider variety of veggies.
The total available market is approximately 5 billion dollars in the U.S, the serviceable
available market is 3.4 billion dollars. The team is looking to tap into the 1.3 billion serviceable
obtainable market which includes local juicing chains, local hydroponic stores, and people who
juice at home. Initially we believe we can hit .05% of this market if the education content
marketing and involvement in the local San Diego juicing community go as planned which
equates to 1665 units sold. We are assuming an average unit sold would be the base and top
