Engineers Without Borders at the University of Minnesota developed a value-based framework to evaluate potential project partnerships with rural communities and select the partnership likely to have the highest impact. The framework assessed four categories - country, community, partner NGO, and project - across various criteria like communication, public health needs, and sustainability. Using this framework, they evaluated partnerships with four communities and selected a project in Wello, Ethiopia based mainly on their ability to communicate effectively with the community. The framework allows NGOs to predict partnership success and maximize their impact through a data-driven selection process.
