They will define the composition of typical mines and weapons through research, and develop reaction models for detonation to estimate greenhouse gas emissions. Over 4 months they will gather data, calculate the carbon footprint, and analyze the results to provide information on emissions avoided by ProAvid Foundation's REDD+ projects reducing mine and weapon detonations.
Big Lottery Fund Scotland are offering ten current Investing in Communities grantholders the opportunity to access the services of an Environmental Placement Contract we have just put in place. This Contract was built from pilot run by the Fund and will place a student within the organisation for up to 10weeks to help reduce their environmental impact and increase their environmental awareness. Invitations to eligible grantholders are being sent out inviting them to send in Expressions of Interest if they would like to access this opportunity.

This session presented the lessons learned as well as the outcomes of evaluations undertaken for 20 prototype projects to enhance the First Year Experience that were implemented in three higher education institutions in Dublin in 2015-6 (Dublin Institute of Technology, Institute of Technology Tallaght and Institute of Technology Blanchardstown). Recommendations that we can now make at an institutional level regarding which initiatives could and should be implemented more widely and the next steps required are also discussed as are findings that we feel can be extended more widely to other higher education institutions.

This session presented the lessons learned as well as the outcomes of evaluations undertaken for 20 prototype projects to enhance the First Year Experience that were implemented in three higher education institutions in Dublin in 2015-6 (Dublin Institute of Technology, Institute of Technology Tallaght and Institute of Technology Blanchardstown). Recommendations that we can now make at an institutional level regarding which initiatives could and should be implemented more widely and the next steps required are also discussed as are findings that we feel can be extended more widely to other higher education institutions.
