21. Do I need to know
the address of
Israeli organizations
I’ve recommended
for support?
No. In the
online portal,
just enter
“Jerusalem”
and NIF will do
the rest. The Progressive Jewish Fund 21
22. Do I need to keep a
minimum amount
in my PJF DAF?
No — so long as the
balance in your fund can
pay the low annual
management fee or $100
(whichever is less).
No — but if your
account is inactive for 3
years, we’ll want to chat.

If criteria for grant-making are met, an organization
is eligible to receive grants unless the organization:
1. Engages in activities at odds with the positions, principles, or vision of the
New Israel Fund.
2. Participates in partisan political activity.
3. Promotes anti-democratic values.
4. Supports the 1967 occupation and subsequent settlement activity.
5. Violates the human rights of any group or individual, advocates for human
rights selectively for one group over another and/or rejects the principle of
the universality of human rights.
6. Condones or promotes violence or uses violent tactics.
Disqualifying Criteria
28. The Progressive Jewish Fund 28
If criteria for grant-making are met, an organization
is eligible to receive grants unless the organization:
7. Employs racist or derogatory language, or designations about any group
based on their religion, race, ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation.
8. Works to deny the right of the Jewish people to sovereign
self-determination within Israel, or to deny the rights of Palestinian Israelis
or other non-Jewish citizens to full equality within a democratic Israel.
9. Participates in or promotes global BDS activities against Israel; however,
support for organizations that lawfully discourage the purchase of goods or
use of services from Jewish settlements in the Occupation Territories is not
grounds for disqualification.

My late wife, Jane, was a civil rights
lawyer and activist, and so am I.
Today, my giving through PJF meets both my wife’s
values and my values. I know our PFJ donations will
work towards an ideal we can be proud of.
