Character Note
These past years working at SRMI were a challenge as great as I was lead to believe when I took the job.
The challenge was to help people that, in many cases, did not want to be helped. Being someone who was
always very competitive, I enjoy working in Alternative Education and serving students whose needs are
greatest.
Working as a teacher in Spain taught me that I have a deep passion for working in education. What shaped
me most during that year was that if a student did not like the teacher that they had they could always call
the academy and request a new one; if you weren’t good you would never work. This taught me to go out
every day with enthusiasm and a careful plan, but never be too set in the plan that you cannot be flexible. In
the year that I worked I never had a student request another teacher.
Growing up I always enjoyed working with younger peers. From Boy Scouts to Campus Ministry I always
found enjoyment in helping along those younger in age. I want to continue to serve the community by
helping those who need it.
