This document provides guidance for nursing students to create a professional portfolio demonstrating their qualifications and achievements to become a nurse educator. The portfolio must include an introduction with a professional goal statement, discussion of how the student's accomplishments align with Boyer's model of scholarship and the eight NLN competencies for nurse educators. While no specific formatting is required, solid academic writing and APA style citations are expected. A rubric will be used to evaluate the portfolio.

PortfolioThe purpose of this assignment is for the nursing education student to have a
forum to showcase personal achievements and to demonstrate current qualifications in
preparation for certification as a nurse educator or in seeking a position as a nurse
educator.There is no one right way to submit a portfolio. Organizations that utilize this
format for clinical advancement and/or peer review may have a standard format that is to
be followed for submission. Organizations may also require a portfolio as part of a job
