On November 9, 2012, the group filmed a news scene in a busy location to make it look realistic, taking different roles such as directing, filming, and setting up equipment. They shot from multiple angles to find the best background setting. The only issues were ambient noise and people talking in the background, which made the scene less effective. On November 16, they re-shot most scenes to better match thriller and action genres. They filmed a dramatic scene of a stalker behind the main character looking at diamonds, highlighting dramatic irony and mystery. They got the needed medium shots but unfortunately good photos taken for a magazine cover were deleted from the computer.

1. On the 9/11/12 our group filmed the news scene. We all did different tasks such
as directing, producing, taking images and setting up the props and equipment
for the day. We shot the scene in a busy location to make it look realistic. The
mise-en-scene had a variety of elements in the shot such as people, police
officers and police vans. To convey a serious atmosphere for the audience to
build up a variety of questions in their mind. One thing that went well was re-
filming. We filmed from different angles to try out the spacing to see what place
was prefect as the set background. The only issue that went wrong was the
ambient sound in the background and people talking. This made it seem less
effective for the audience.

On the 16/11/12 we decided to re-shoot most of our scenes because the pervious
scenes weren’t realistic to match the codes and conventions of a thriller and
action genre movie. We filmed in the screening room with the stalker stood
behind Jasmine whilst she was staring a pair of sparkly and expensive
diamonds. I think this highlighted dramatic irony which is tense and also
mystery that increases attention around the prop. The positive aspect that went
well was we got to film all the medium shots we needed. The negative and
positive aspect was taking some pictures for our magazine cover and then

2. uploading it onto the Mac computer but unfortunately they did not fully transfer
onto the desktop area and they were all good shots that were deleted.
On the 21/11/12 our group took some pictures in the screening room of
(Jasmine) Natasha’s character and the stalker. She wore dark clothing to convey
a scary and creepy atmosphere. In the dark room we used a lamp to create
shadows behind her and to convey a sense of realism. We shot a selection of
med, long and establishing shots to give it a different effect as you can see below.
On the 23/11/12 we filmed a news scene just outside a church to develop a cold
and tense feel too the trailer. We positioned the news reporter accurately by
having her back towards a busy road with a police van and two police officers
standing. This created a realistic atmosphere especially as you saw people
walking by shops and buses were passing by. We shot med shots and head shots.
Overall we was pleased with the footage but when it came to editing we realised
that the boom stick was shown throughout the entire film and it made it look
unprofessional. We wanted to keep the scene but when we realised it wasn't
useful we then decided to cut it out.

3. On the 25/11/12 our group filmed inside of a graveyard. We filmed a variety of
establishing shots to portray the character is placed in a
gothic and sinister atmosphere. To make the audience feel uneasy and tense and
to build up a climax. We also had close ups of her face which was chilling. She
wore winter clothes which made everything seem cold and numb like her
emotions and it builds a personal connection with the audience. The only thing
that went bad was that we made the character walk towards the camera and it
didn't look realistic enough. Also we had a faulty tripod and it was raining is
well. On a positive note we managed to film on time and direct Natasha by telling
her how to convey her role to the audience.
