The [product] is a gateway to data that exists across the healthcare community through a standards based health
informationexchange. The primaryfocusof the [product] istoallow an authorized user to access patient health records
fromacross a community. The secondaryfocusittoenable authorizeduserstocollaborate aroundapatientusingsecure
messaging tools.
The [product] is made up of three core areas: the patient lookup, the notification inbox and the document viewer.
The [product] v 1.1 provides a view of the patient’s encounter information and the documents associated with an
encounter.
IntendedUse
The [product] provides a platform for and the first generation of an advanced clinical viewer for health information
exchange.The flexible andmodularweb-basedUIinfrastructure isextensible and allows for a flexibility of deployment.
The [product] isdesignedtobe usedinconcertwithan EMR solutionoras a standalone viewinto the health information
exchange for users who do not have an EMR.
Log on
The logonpointisyour gatewayto the [product]. Logginginwill allow youtoaccessthe application.
 User name and passwordare requiredtoaccessthe [product].
 Clickingon“ok” will initiate the authenticationprocess.
 Clickingon clearwill clearthe textfieldsinthe screen.

Patient Search
The patientsearchis yourmechanismtofinda patientandgainaccess to theirrecord. The patientsearchfeature in
[product] offersthree mechanismstoaccessa record.
Last 10 Dropdown
The last 10 Dropdownallowsyoutoquicklyreturntoa recentlyaccessedpatientrecordbyselectingapatientinthe drop
downlist.
QuickSearch
The Quick Search function allows you to perform a type forward search against all patients with whom you have an
existingrelationshipwith. Asyou type apatient’slastname intothe searchfieldthe systemlooksforpatients you have a
relationship with and presents them in a drop down. This allows the user to select and quickly search for the record.
AdvancedSearch
If you are not able to find your patient you can do a general patient search by doing an advanced search. The advance
searchtakesany informationyouplace intothe searchfieldandprovidesyouwithall the matches to your query. It gives
you the option to add in additional information to further narrow your search. By clicking on any of the results you can
see the full complement of demographic available as well as allowing you to declare a relationship to a patient.

RelationshipManagement
Priorto viewingapatientrecordyoumust first establish a relationship with the patient. The relationship describes the
context of care under which you will view the record as well as creates a notification profile for you in regards to the
patient. Basedonthat profile youwill receivenotificationsaboutnew documentspublishedaboutaselectedpatient. An
example of a relationship is a “PCP” relationship.
Add a relationship
To add a relationship, clickthe addrelationshipbuttonandselectthe mostappropriate relationshipfromthe dropdown.
Edit a relationship

flexible and modular web-based UI infrastructure is extensible and allows for flexibility of deployment. [Product] is
designedtobe usedinconcertwith an electronic medical record (EMR) solution or as a standalone view into the health
information exchange for users who do not have an EMR.
Logging in
The loginpointisyour gatewayto [Product]. Log into access the application.
 You need a username and passwordto access [Product].
 ClickOKto initiate the authenticationprocess.
 ClickCLEAR to clearthe textfields inthe screen.
Global controls
[Product] hasa global toolbarthat isaccessible fromeveryview.

Quick search

Advanced search
If you are not able to find your patient’s records using quick search, you can do a wider patient search using advanced
searchoptions. The advancedsearchtakesany informationyouenterintothe search field and provides you with all the
matches to your query. You can add in more information to further narrow your search. If you click any of the results,
youcan see the full complement of demographic information available and can also declare a relationship to a patient.
