PROBA-V: Global data, global and local applications. PROBA-V is a unique sensor which provides daily observations on the earth’s land mass. Part of its uniqueness is not only due to its ground resolution but also due to the compatibility with the 16 years SPOT-VEGETATION time series, which guarantees a 20 years’ time series by 2018. PROBA-V captures seasonal dynamics of different land uses which is used for a variety of applications to address environmental and agricultural challenges. PROBA-V is also the prime data source for Europe’s Copernicus Global Component from 2014 onwards with a wide range of users, at the local, regional and global scale.
