2.  Allows for peer review, which will build on knowledge
as well as monitor it.
 Knowledge can build in a global forum connecting
intellectual understanding.
 A person in any part of the world with a cell phone
and Internet can access knowledge regardless of
race ethnicity social or economic status or gender.
 An instructor can access resources based on multiple
educational theories.
 Students can, in the case of videoed lectures can re-
listen to a lecture as many times as they need

3.  Finding materials are overwhelming and time consuming.
 Sustainability of funding that will ensure updated, quality
material may be precarious.
 I agree with the statement from Boyoung that quality
assurance is an issue. It’s not always easy to see if material
is good quality or relevant.
 Convincing our department to use OER may not be easy.
 I find students initially have a fear of using online materials.
And many teachers are skeptical of the use of technology.
