1) The narrator wakes up early in the morning and gets ready for school, enjoying the fresh air. 2) At school, the narrator joins classmates but during the last lesson, dark clouds fill the sky. When the bell rings, the narrator forgets their umbrella and gets soaked walking home in the rain. 3) The narrator sees other kids playing in the playground and thinks they have true freedom, but realizes that going home to their mother who cares for them when they fall ill is where their true freedom comes from.

‘Cock-a-doodle-doo’ The sound slashed through my dreams and I sat up in my bed in. I
got up and checked the time – 4.00 sharp. I did my morning duties and wore my clean and
ironed uniform and walked to school. I felt fresh and exhilarated by the clear and crisp
morning air and the radiant rays of the morning sun brought light and life to the town. The
school was just around the corner.
The school was already bustling with activity and I joined some of my happy
classmates in the school hall and waited for lessons to begin. The rest of the day went smooth.
But during the last few minutes of the lesson, the sky was full of dark, ragged clouds. The ring
of the bell signalled the end of school and school was dismissed. Cheers and shouts of happy
children echoed through the hallways. Sadly, I forgot to bring my trusted umbrella.
I waded through puddles and drenched to the skin. I saw some kids in the playground,
enjoying themselves. I thought that they had true freedom. I wanted to play with them but
knew that my mother will worry.
When I went home, I had fever because of the harsh weather. Now, I realized that the
the true freedom came from home, where my dear mother looks after me. I do think about the
kids, who do not worry about their family. Even though I cannot play, I have my mother to
take care of me.
