The inaugural Pride Camp at the University of Mississippi was scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 29, 2015 from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm in the Union Ballroom. The day included a continental breakfast, introductions by directors, icebreakers, panels on resources for LGBTQ students and managing microaggressions and implicit bias, a student panel, networking luncheon, and closing remarks. Upcoming LGBTQ events were also listed.

 Shawnboda Mead, Director of The Center for Inclusion & Cross Cultural Engagement, and Dr.
Susan Grayzel, Director of The Sarah Isom Center for Women & Gender Studies, welcomes

9:30 am to 10:15 am Resource Panel (Moderator: Jamie Harker)
 University and community representatives will discuss how they can best serve the needs of LGBTQ
students at the University of Mississippi.
10:15 am to 10:30 am Break / Student Interaction with Resource Panel
 This is an opportunity to interact with the Resource Panel representatives, ask additional questions,
or address any concerns.
10:30 am to 11:15 am Managing Micro Aggressions & Implicit Bias with Dr. Jennifer Stollman
 William Winter Institute Academic Director, Dr. Jennifer Stollman, will provide strategies for
addressing micro aggressions and implicit bias on campus.
11:15 am to 12:15 pm

Student Panel (Moderator: Ian Whalen)
 Hear about personal experiences at the University of Mississippi and living in Oxford, MS from
current LGBTQ students.
Networking Luncheon
 Dr. Brandi Hephner-LaBanc, Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs, gives welcoming remarks and
Assistant Vice Chancellor & Dean of Students Dr. Melinda Sutton, shares additional resources with
Pride Camp participants.
Closing Remarks by Dr. Jaime Cantrell
 Dr. Jaime Cantrell, Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of English & Sarah Isom Center
for Women & Gender Studies, provides closing remarks.
