Product Design Trends in 2024 | Teenage EngineeringsPixeldarts
The realm of product design is a constantly changing environment where technology and style intersect. Every year introduces fresh challenges and exciting trends that mold the future of this captivating art form. In this piece, we delve into the significant trends set to influence the look and functionality of product design in the year 2024.
How Race, Age and Gender Shape Attitudes Towards Mental HealthThinkNow
Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).

Unlocking the Power of ChatGPT and AI in Testing - A Real-World Look, present...
Prezentacja wamp
1. W przedostatnim tygodniu listopada, ponad 280
krwiodawców wspólnie ugasiło pragnienie Krwiopijka,
aż 126 litrami krwi! Odwiedziło go ponad 400 osób, a
niezliczona liczba studentów buszowała z nim po
Kampusie, chętnie pozując do zdjęć ;)
2. Wampiriada to przede wszystkim akcja honorowego
salonów kosmetycznych, bilety do kin, teatrów i masa niezliczonych atrakcji!
5. Największą furorę wywołały jednak nasze
przepyszne torciki w kształcie serca, z wyjątkowym
i jedynym w swoim rodzaju, lukrowym
Krwiopijkiem;)
Tego jeszcze nie było - ale słodkości!
nowego wampirzego oblicza, w tonacji z dozą
elegancji, gdyż nasz Krwiopijek przyodział krawat oraz
pelerynkę;) Wystroił się specjalnie dla naszych
krwiodawców!
8. Grupa projektowa to też nowe twarze w NZS. Dla większości był to pierwszy projekt, jednak
poradzili sobie doskonale;) Choć hasło „burza mózgów” nie wzbudzała powszechnego
poruszenia, to w momentach kryzysu zadziwiali swoją kreatywnością i masą niespodziewanych
i często naprawdę niespotykanych pomysłów.
10. Adam był naszym projektowym grafikiem.
Jako grafik, był jedyną osobą, która nie
pozyskiwała sponsoringu. Zadania
projektowe łączyły się bardzo ściśle z jego
zainteresowaniami, więc nikogo nie powinny
dziwić liczne pochwały i sympatia dla jego
projektów, w szczególności plakatów i
kubków;) Grafika w projekcie to liczne
zadania, miliony poprawek, myślenie nad
wizją oraz doborem kolorów i wszystko w
odpowiednim motywie;) Choć, czas nas
gonił, terminy były nieubłagane poradził
sobie z projektami plakatów, pulpitów,
grafiką do promocji internetowej, badgeami,
koszulkami, kubkami oraz każdym pozornie
małym zadaniem graficznym;)
11. Kasia Bil odpowiadała za facebookowy
profil Krwiopijka. Podczas finału na bieżąco
prowadziła konkurs ,,Znajdź siebie„, w
którym studenci dostawali nagrody jeśli
odnaleźli w galerii swoje zdjęcie z
Krwiopijkiem a Kasia wszystko
zweryfikowała;) Wrzucała także ciekawostki i
notki o projekcie oraz zdjęcia studentów z
naszą maskotką;) Była również jedną z osób
odpowiadających za losowanie nagród dla
krwiodawców, co prowadziła zawsze z
dobrym humorem i uśmiechem na ustach;)
Dbała o przyjazną atmosferę, zawsze chętnie
pomagała członkom GP oraz perfekcyjnie
wykonywała wszystkie zadania i to zawsze w
terminie;)
stronach internetowych. Wykorzystał także swoje
niesamowite zdolności sponsoringowe, pozyskał
w projekcie dofinansowanie do naszych koszulek
i wartościowy barter!;) Zawdzięczamy mu także
hasło, powstało spontanicznie w sytuacji
kryzysowej, zapewne dzięki jego twórczej
kreatywności;) Wystąpił także w roli głównej,
jako największa gwiazda filmiku promocyjnego,
czyli Krwiopijek, genialnie hasał po Kampusie
niczym prostu z teledysku Gangam Style;)
Ponadto zawsze miał głowę na karku i potrafił
znaleźć rozwiązanie w każdej sytuacji;)
13. Wacek odpowiadał za naszych stałych
sponsorów, aby ich materiały zawisły
podczas finału i miały pięknie
udokumentowane zdjęcia do fotorelacji, a
także załatwił nam przemiłego trenera na
stoisku siłowni;) Ponadto świetnie dawał
radę sobie z każdym pojedynczym
zadaniem, chętnie wskakiwał w strój
Krwiopijka, chociaż w czasie projektu był
również koordynatorem Mikołajek;)
14. Jacek odkrył, że jego nową pasją jest
sponsoring, świetnie radził sobie z
negocjacjami, nawet z partnerami, którzy
początkowo nie chcieli z nami
współpracować;) Odpowiadał również za
znalezienie firmy oraz zamówienie
Wampiriadowych kubków. Pozyskał dla nas
wiele cennych wejściówek do kin, muzeów
oraz teatrów, a na finale został także
naszym nowym krwiodawcą;)
15. Agnieszka była osobą odpowiedzialną za
wolontariuszy w czasie finału projektu, kontakt z
nimi i organizację ich pracy. We wcześniejszej
edycji była na ich miejscu, więc dokładnie
wiedziała jak powinna się nimi zająć;) Jak
większość GP pozyskiwała także sponsoring oraz
szkoliła swoje umiejętności administracyjne w
pisaniu pisemek, a teraz jeszcze bardziej
zaaklimatyzowała się z NZS i zapewne zostanie z
nami na nieco dłużej po finale;)
16. Kasia Kapel jako nasza nowa świeżynka,
pozyskała liczny i wartościowy sponsoring, co
odczuła zapewne w etapie po projekcie, podczas
odnoszenia materiałów promocyjnych i
podziękowań;) Na samym finale uczestnicy mogli
być jej wdzięczni za własnoręcznie zrobione
wykreślanki i krzyżówki oraz stoisko salonu
kosmetycznego, które przyjechało na jej
zaproszenie, a był to również autorski pomysł
Kasi. Poza tym, dbała też o sprawne losowanie
nagród i na pewno teraz już planuje jakby u nas
dalej działać;)
17. Renata zastąpiła w GP Ewelinę Lipiec, która
niestety opuściła nas w czasie, gdy
przygotowania ruszyły już pełną parą. Mimo,
18. A w kryzysie uczucia głodu i zmęczenia z
pomocą, przychodziła pyszna pizza w niezwykle
atrakcyjnej cenie dzięki tajnej, nikomu
powszechnie nieznanej promocji...
Dziękujemy Michał Sowa!
zainteresowania, a zarazem chwilowa pasja, czyli ,,Achtung die Kurve„ ;)
23. Zdjęcia to nasza pokaźna pamiątka, mieliśmy aż trzy aparaty! Mimo to zabrakło jednej
fotki, całej GP... na szczęście nadrobiliśmy to drobną ustawką... ;)
ulegnie on w tym czasie z niszczeniu.
przeprowadzić wywiad z kandydatami do oddania krwi, uczestnik musi w pełni rozumieć
współpracowali z nami wcześniej, podczas Spreja i
Wampiriady wiosennej.
kontaktować się mailowo, my jednak z wszystkimi
ważnymi kwestiami z tą firmą kontaktowaliśmy się
telefonicznie.
Jaki wniosek?
27. Co można ulepszyć? Uwagi i luźne pomysły zebrane
oddania krwi, niż w południe i nieco później.
28. Pomysły do zrealizowania - co chcieliśmy,
a napotkaliśmy przeszkody:
Chcieliśmy zaprosić gościa specjalnego, jednak pomysły gp szły w dość niekoniecznie dobrym
kierunku...
najlepiej mieszka w Krakowie;)
