The University Church Community Garden will host the Third Annual Veggie Trails, a 5K run/walk at Swan Creek Park on August 27th to raise funds for expanding and maintaining garden operations. The $15 registration fee provides a drink station, gift card prizes for participants, and higher gift cards for winners. A kids' fun run will also take place prior to the adult 5K. Participants can pre-register at Second Sole or print a form to mail in their registration by August 20th, or register on the day of the event starting at 8:00am. T-shirts are available for $10 to registered runners.

Veggie Trails, a Healthy Way the Whole Family Can Help the Community
TOLEDO,Ohio – August 27, 2016 – At the end of the month the University Church’s Community
Garden will be hosting the Third Annual Veggie Trails, a 5K (3.1 mile) at Swan Creek Park in order to
raise funds that will help expand and maintain operations.
It cost only $15 to register. All proceeds go to the Community Garden initiative. Walkers are welcome.
There will be one drink station included about halfway through the trail and after the race to help hydrate
participants. Gift card prizes will be available for all registered participants who complete the run and
higher amount gift cards for winners. The gift cards are from some local restaurants whom offer great
cuisine including Fowl and Fodder, Grape Leaf, and Balance Grille.
The 5K starts at 9:00 a.m. on August 27, at the beautiful Swan Creek Park,4659 Airport Hwy, Toledo
Ohio, 43615. The event is open to the public for anyone to attend and adults to participate. There will be a
smaller and free kids’ “fun run” (about 3/4 a mile) prior to the adult 5K with the Veggie Trail mascot.
You can pre-register at Second Sole track shoe store by paying the $15 fee and filling out the registration
form given there. Pre-registration can also be done by printing and filling out the registration sheet and
sending the payment to the form’s listed address prior to August 20. The form can be obtained on our
Facebook or at the University Church. There is also the option to register the day of the event from 8:00
a.m. to 8:45 a.m.in the case of new or delayed interest. T-shirts are available given to registered runners
on a first-come-first-serve basis for just $10 more.
