by Sushri Mayawati united this year
after a long time of 25 years (1993)
to confront Bhartiya Janta Party in
Vidhansabha Elections.
 The Samajwadi Party and the
Bahujan Samaj Party are keen to give
the final shape to a united
opposition front in Uttar Pradesh by
May to take on the Bharatiya Janata
Party together in the next general
elections.
 The SP and BSP, which came
together during the recent by polls
for Gorakhpur and Phulpur LS seats,
have started examining seats where
the BJP had won because of division
of votes between the two regional
parties in the 2014 election. Now,
the two parties want to avoid a clash
over any such seat while aiming to
consolidate their different social
bases in almost every constituency.
