The present perfect continuous tense is used to describe actions that began in the past and continue in the present or have recently stopped. It is formed using "have/has been" plus the present participle of the verb. Some key uses include describing activities that have been ongoing for a period of time up until now, or actions that were interrupted recently. It is not normally used with stative verbs which describe states rather than actions, or with words like "ever" and "never".
