CONTRIBUTION OF VILLAGE DEVELOPMENT
COMMUNITY
• They generate income which is used for
development of the communities or villages.
• Some of these protects are also used for
environmental conservation, for example forest and
wild animal projects and others.
• The surplus raised is then saved in a community
fund which is used in other village developments
that would be identified and agreed upon by the
entire community.
• These developments may include construction of
the customary court (Kgotla), the post office, public
toilets, community and school halls and many
others.
• They also contribute a certain amount of
money during some community celebrations
such as Independence Day (Boipuso).
• Improvement of people's lives by employing
members of the community
• Providing infrastructure such as community
and school halls, building of customary
courts and offices to be used by the
community.
• Providing accommodation to extension
workers, hence curbing or reducing shortage
of accommodation.
