Rhetorical Techniques Make your presence felt: you should begin with a pause, employ non-verbal contact, catch the audience´s attention Pauses: pauses are exciting; wilfull pauses show your commanding knowledge Rythm: A monotonous way of speaking lulls the audience to sleep; change the rythm of your voice to maintain the attention Articulation: precise articulation supports your presence and knowledge Voice: with a good chest voice you are able to fill large rooms; this requires a special taining Eye Contact: keep the eye contact to your audience, collect their attention Technique of Maintaining your Presence: every now and then „have a break / pause“  Sculptures: Body language is extremely important: be aware of your gestures and your facial expression; employ clear, unambiguous „sculptures“ Technique of walking: while talking you should every now and then go to another place in order to maintain the attention and to offer a welcome change
