HISTORY OF CECOSDA
CECOSDA was created in 2011 by a group of
volunteers specialized in Communication and
International Public Action who worked in synergy with
a view to put Communication for Sustainable
Development at the service of all. In doing so, the group
had the intimate conviction that made it important to
take action to protect the environment. After finalizing its
structuring in 2013, CECOSDA was in 2014 officially
declared a National NGO and has since then been active
in everyday aspect of Communicating for a Sustainable
Future.

MISSION OF CECOSDA
The mission of CECOSDA is to contribute to the
attainment of sustainable development objectives
by working with institutions and organizations
concerned with sustainable development issues.
To that end CECOSDA intends to jointly develop
communication, research and training strategies
to ensure that development efforts have a more
significant impact on the targeted populations.

THE VISION OF CECOSDA
To become a reference CSOs in
Cameroon by 2020 in communities
awareness creation, working in partnership
with the Government and other stakeholders
in the sectors of Water, Environment and
Food Security, in view of achieving
sustainable development goals (SDGs).

OBJECTIVES OF CECOSDA
 Increase the effectiveness of sustainable
development programs through communication
for behaviour change;
 Make sustainable development more accessible
and understandable;
 Improving government action for sustainable
development through increased access to
information and knowledge exchange.

 The welfare of the people must be guaranteed through
the restitution of development within the social, political
and cultural context of the communities;
 Environmental preservation arises through a growing
awareness for a better understanding of the ravages made
in the name of development at the expense of the
environment and effect on humans;
 Sustainable development can only be achieved by
ensuring that communication is fully integrated in the
economic, social and environmental sense.

CECOSDA is managed by a board of directors
and an operational team. The board is chaired
by an Adviser, and operational team led by a
coordinator who manages more than thirteen
people.
The resources of CECOSDA are from members
contributions and the support of donors and
other organizations working for sustainable
development.
