13. WEAKNESS OF GGGMU:-
1) Farmers periodical Milk bill payment dues from 01.09.2022 to 20.10.2022 worth of Rs 11831623/-(One crore Eighteen
lakhs thirty-one thousand six hundred twenty three only) out of which only two milk bills from 01.09.2022 to
20.09.2022 has been released by getting 59 lakhs interest free loan from Omfed. In order to clear another 3 Milk Bill
payments rest 59 lakhs is required.
2) Out of the above 59 lakhs interest free loan from Omfed the Milk union has already repay 15 lakhs as on March 2024 to
Omfed through Milk Bill.
3) The available Milk testing equipments at the Societies are become very old which was supplied more than 10-15 years
back incurs heavy maintenance cost. Under NPDD scheme 8 nos of AMCU & 30 Nos of Milk-o-tester has been
sanctioned @ 60-40 basis. But neither Milk Union nor concerned MPCS is capable to purchase it by contributing 40%
cost of the AMCU or Milko Tester.
4) Out of the existing Milk tankers, 4 (Four) tankers has covered more than 15 years and incurring heavy matainnancs cost,
accordingly process has been started for auction sale of the above four milk tankers. Again there is need of 3 nos 2KL
tanker for GGGMU.
14. 5. Taking the advantages of delay in backlog milk bill payments of the milk union the private players like Visakha Dairy, Heritage
and Local vender’s are approaching into our operational area and collecting milk by providing some kinds/Gifts like milk cans,
Umbrella and cash bonus to the farmers on Social occasions like Pongal, Dasahara etc and also collecting low quality milk at
higher price.
6. Due to the above reason many societies have got defunct or sick by which we have to stop some milk route and BMC due to
high maintance & transport cost.
7. The Milk union having three procurement staffs are not sufficient to move in the field to motivate the farmers for organising
milk Co-operative societies, revival of societies and formation of collection centres.
8. Due to poor financial condition of the Milk Union, the milk union is unable to pay the TA bills to the field staffs.
9. Due to poor financial condition of the Milk Union 5 months’ salary of the regular staffs from April-2023 to Aug-2023, 6th Pay
DA Arrear of 10% from 01.07.2019 to 30.06.2021 & 32% DA from 01.07.2021 to 30.09.2023 has not been paid to staffs. Now
the Milk union staffs are getting 6th pay salary with 196% DA whereas total 6th pay DA as on today has been reached to 230%.
10. Now the milk Union Corporate office is being handled by I/c General Manager, Jr Asst (MIS &Accounts), I/c Accounts,
deputed from Berhampur Dairy (Additional Charge) and one Office Attendant only. So Sri Narahari Prasad Patro, Asst. (P&I)
deputed to Berhampur Dairy may kindly be deployed at GGGMU to work as (P&I & Esst.I/c) GGGMU ltd, Berhampur.
15. OPPORTUNITIES IN GGGMU:-
1. Recently TATA STEEL FOUNDTION, Gopalpur has supported 5 nos of AMCU (Automatic Milk collection Unit) to our Milk
Co-operative Societies like Tanganapalli, Sundarpur, Brajanagar Niladripur and Baghala MPCS.
2. By the help of OLM we have organised one MPCS at Sidheswar under Digapahandi Block by taking the SHG members as
member of the MPCS. Accordingly one Praposal has been given to OLM for providing one AMCU to Sidheswar Mpcs for
milk quality testing. The Milk Union has requested to OLM to supply Dairy animals to other SHG groups on cluster basis
in the milk route area so that, the Milk union can easily collect the Milk by forming Milk Co-operative Societies.
3. On 15th February 2024 a pilot phase Dairy scheme (2 Unit each) has been launched by CGM, NABARD in the premises of
GGGMU taking financing Bank as BCCB, ACCB and UGB, Berhampur. As per the scheme around 2000 members of
different MPCS will be benefited.
16. 4. On the other hand Nabard is also planning for conducting training programme for those selected beneficiaries on Bio
Gas, Vermi Compost and Dairy animal management and other technical support by BAIF.
5. We are collecting KCC applications from the members of different MPCS, if those applications will be considered by
different Bank Branches, then some members will be benefited and we will be able to increase our milk procurement.
17. SHORT TERM PLAN FOR ENHANCEMENT OF MILK PROCUREMENT IN GGGMU
