2. Charles Darwin
He was born on February 12, 1809
in Shrewsbury, England
With just 16 years old, Darwin
entered the University of
Edinburgh, but was gradually
putting aside his medical studies to
pursue research in marine
invertebrates.
3. Darwin spent the summer of 1825
as an apprentice doctor, helping
his father to assist people in need
of Shropshire, before marching
with Erasmus to the University of
Edinburgh.
The Beagle voyage lasted almost
five years, sailing from Plymouth
Bay on December 27, 1831 and
arriving at Falmouth on October 2,
1836.
4. When the Beagle returned on 2 October
1836, Darwin had become a celebrity in
scientific circles as in December 1835
Henslow had fostered the reputation of
his former disciple selected a pamphlet
distributed to its communications on
geology naturalists.
5. The Origin of Species, a book by Charles Darwin
published on 24 November 1859, considered one
of the pioneering work of scientific literature and
the foundation of the theory of evolutionary biology
is.
Darwin's work was not well received by the
scientific community because it could not explain
the mechanisms of inheritance nor the origin of
variants (which had been investigated by Mendel in
1866 but his publications were ignored until 1900,
Darwin died in 1882 and no known that early) and
was not well received by the religious community
and intellectuals.
