The Queen first visited the BBC's Broadcasting House in 1939 as a young princess accompanying her father and mother. She returned in 1953 after being crowned Queen. Over the decades since, Broadcasting House has undergone significant changes, including damage during World War 2 and a recent $1.5 billion renovation. The Queen will now see the modern glass extension and multi-media newsroom during her visit.
