What is Literary genre?
 The word genre means "artistic category or style,"
and you can talk about a movie's genre, or the genre
of music that drives you crazy.
 The term Literary genre, you make it clear that you're
talking about books and writing.
 The word genre is French, and it means "kind, sort, or
style."
Common Forms of Literature
1. Stories
- A story or narrative is a connected series of events told
through words (written or spoken), imagery (still and
moving), body language, performance, music, or any
other form of communication.
2. Poem
is a collection of words that
express an emotion or idea, sometimes
with a specific rhythm.
Novel
 is a narrative work of prose fiction that
tells a story about specific human
experiences over a considerable length.
Textbook
 is an informational book that you use
specifically for a class at school. Your biology
textbook might be so heavy that you dread
lugging it to class.
News article
Discusses current or recent news of
either general interest (i.e. daily
newspapers) or of a specific topic (i.e.
political or trade news magazines, club
newsletters, or technology news
websites).
Song lyrics
can be used to refer to a certain line in
the whole of a song

molding.”
