Topic:-Characteristics of zener diode and design a simple zener
voltage regulator determine line and load regulation.

2. Zener Diode characteristics
Aim:-
To study the characteristics of a zener diode and design forward bias
and reverse bias .
Components Required:-
• Resistor 1kohm.
• Ammeter (0-30mA).
• Voltmeter (0-1V).
• Diode IN4148.
• Power supply (0-30V).

4. Procedure
Forward biased condition:-
• Connect the zener diode in forward bias ie,anode is connected to positive of
the power supply and cathode is connected to negative of the power supply
as in the circuit.
• For various values of forward voltage (VF) note down the corresponding
values of forward current (IF).
Reverse biased condition:-
• Connected the zener diode in reverse bias,anode is connected to negative of
the power supply and cathode to positive of the power supply as in the
circuit.
• For various values of Reverse voltage (VR) note down the corresponding
values of reverse current (IR).
