The teacher will play the Ang Bayan Ko.
1. What the song means?
2. What is nationalism for you?
3. Do you know the forms of this song?
FORM
● It is the overall structure of a musical composition.
● It depends on the number of sections that make up
a song.
Phrases are combined to create sections which have
a similar feel. There are songs which are
made up of one section only. Most songs, however,
have two or more sections. Every section
may differ in tone, beat, tempo, or key.
The primary elements of form are repetition, contrast,
and variation.
Simple Forms in Music:
1. Binary Form – A binary form is made up of two sections.
These 2 sections must be different from each other.
AB – starts with section A and ends in section B.
2. Ternary Form – is made up of three sections. There are
two types of ternary form
ABC – has three sections and ends with section C.
ABA – the A section appears both at the beginning and
at the end. The B section is contrasting in
character/significantly different from the A section.
3. Rondo (ABACA) – has 3 contrasting sections in between
repetition of the A section. It can be represented by these
symbols:
Think-Pair-Share
Think of object/objects that can be represented in
binary form. For example:
Analyze the song Lupang Hinirang”
Lupang Hininirang
A
Bayang magiliw perlas ng Silanganan
Alab ng puso sa dibdib mo’y buhay
Lupang hinirang duyan ka ng magiting
Sa manlulupig di ka pasisiil.
B
C
Lupa ng araw ng luwalhati’t pagsinta
Buhay ay langit sa piling mo
Aming ligaya na pag may mang-aapi
Ang mamatay nang dahil sa ‘yo.

Do you know this kind of printing?
How does it work?
What is Screen printing?
Screen printing is used to design shirts and
convey a message, memory, confesses the
love for something, ran in a charity event, or
show your favorite band—really anything you
dream
about can be screen-printed onto t-shirt. This
process is often referred to as Silk Screen
printing. As a method in printmaking, it uses a
stencil to apply ink onto another material.
It can be on fabric or t-shirts. It can also be on
paper, wood, vinyl, or any other material that
absorbs ink. It is very simple process, but it requires
skill, experiences and use of the right equipment to
get the process right.
Before silk screen printing, creating one’s original
design is very important. In creating a design, one
important aspect to look after is the message that
you want to promote. It may in the form of a logo,
or any graphic or text with value.
These are the things you need in silk printing.
How to Silkscreen
1. Coat screen with photo sensitive emulsion -This
should be done in an area not well lit
and while emulsion is drying keep the screen out of
light.
2. Burn screen - Take transparency and place on
outside of screen, right side down, with
clear tape. Locations on screen vary due to
placement on textile. Place the screen in
the exposure unit or in direct light to expose
emulsion.
3. Rinse out image - After emulsion has been
exposed, remove transparency, and take to
wash out sink. Here gently rinse out the entire
screen- the emulsion where the image was will
completely wash away as well as any excess
emulsion that could run into the image while
drying. After rinse, set the screen aside to dry.
4. Tape up screen - Clear packing tape works best
to go around the inside of the screen to
prevent ink from running into edges of screen
which would go through and to preserve
screens.
Hands-on Activity
You will be the one who will design your own t-shirt.
Materials:
Oslo Paper
Drawing materials
Coloring materials
What to do: • Think of a theme or message.
• On a bond paper, draw a t-shirt big
enough to occupy the entire paper. • Cut the excess part of the
paper leaving
the t-shirt shaped part. • Draw an original theme or message, logo
or any text or graphic on the paper
