2. SUMMARY
 Friends of Hondondo Creek Trails create & maintain trails
in Hondondo Creek & associated areas
 2019 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) established
with City needs amending to incorporate Judson Nature
Trail House

3. BACKGROUND
 2019 MOU in effect between Friends & City for mutual
goals of developing & maintaining trails – Judson Nature
Trails
 Judson Nature Trail House is structure adjacent to trails
overseen by San Antonio Audubon Society (SAAS)
 April 2025 – SAAS dissolved & bequeathed Judson Nature
Trail House to Friends of Hondondo Creek Trails
 Fall 2025 – Friends requested amended MOU to
incorporate Judson Nature Trail House

4. JUDSON NATURE TRAIL HOUSE
 Recent improvements include efforts to repair &
secure structure
 Previously used to host SAAS
board meetings & educational
programs
 $10,000 awarded in FY 2024
Community Improvement Grant
 Amended Friends MOU to
include structure’s oversight

5. POLICY ANALYSIS
 Consistent with City’s efforts to provide quality
recreational services to citizens of Alamo Heights & City
of San Antonio
 Terms of the City’s lease agreement
