Background of the Study
Education is widely acknowledged as the solution to the
world's socioeconomic challenges. Choosing a career is one of
many significant decisions that students will make in order to
determine their future plans. It becomes the greatest
conundrum and challenge in a student's life. It involves the
interaction of a great number of intricately related factors. It
requires a difficult decision-making process and is not an easy
task. According from Kazi and Akhlaq (2017), in view of the
foregoing, the need to equip our students with appropriate
career decision skills becomes highly imperative through
general orientation and seminars into the world of work through
the curriculum. This study is intended in order to figure out the
factors that influence BEED students' chosen course of Initao
College.
THEORITICAL FRAMEWORK
 According to Holland’s Theory of Career Choice (RIASEC)
(2019) maintains that in choosing a career, people prefer jobs
where they can be around others who are like them. They
search for environments that will let them use their skills and
abilities, and express their attitudes and values, while taking on
enjoyable problems.
 According to the study of Bandura (1977) created this career
development theory, which also relies on the personal aspects
of an individual to build their career path. However, unlike
other theories, it places greater weight on a person’s past
experiences. Behind these experiences, one can find what
motivates an individual. When you find the reason behind what
motivates a person (praise, controlling outside factors,
competitiveness with peers), you can determine the career
where they are most likely to find success.

1.2 Age
1.3 Civil Status
1.4 Course and Year .
1.5 Family Income
1.6 Sex
2. What factors influenced BEED students in choosing their course?
2.1 Considerations of Institution
2.2 Family Influence
2.3 Financial Support
2.4 Future Job Opportunities
2.5 Own-Making and Interest
2.6 Peer Influence
2.7 Skills

in their chosen course.

Significance of the Study
This research is made with the aim to find out the Factors influencing BEED
students' chosen courses. The findings of this research will benefit the following:
 To the Students
This study will serve as a guide for the students so they can have a better
understanding of their passions and a clearer idea of what they want to do soon.
 To the School Administrator
This study would serve as a reading that will enable them to work with the
teachers in helping a student choose the career path they are about to take. It will
also help them in conducting workshops and seminars in alignment with decision-
making.
 To the Instructors
The information gathered discloses the possibility that the teacher would be able
to give appropriate recommendations regarding the student’s abilities. They also
become one of the important factors in the realization of a student’s goals and vision.
This may help them understand the significance of knowledge on how to motivate
students in picking a goal for a better future.
 To the Parents and Guardians
The research aims to help parents understand their child’s endeavour. They
would be also innovative to work and support the teachers in assisting their children.
Moreover, they will be informed of the great role they will play in fostering decision-
making toward the students’ future and in setting their goals.
Scope and Limitation of the study
The focus of the study is to find out the relationship between the
demographic profile and the factors that influence the selected
students of BEED 1 in their chosen course. The study will be
conducted in Initao College at Jampason, Initao, Misamis Oriental
in the school year 2022-2023. The respondents of the study are
the selected 200 1st-year BEED students in Initao College. The
study would be done by using a questionnaire for the students as a
survey and reference. Through their strategy, the researchers will
be able to know if there will be a significant relationship between
the demographic profile and the factors that influence the selected
first-year BEED students of Initao College in terms of their chosen
course.
