This document contains classroom rules and procedures for students. It addresses expectations for behavior, consequences for tardiness, disruptions and disrespect, lab safety, group work guidelines, and policies for absences and late work. Students are expected to follow directions from teachers, treat each other and staff with respect, and participate actively in class without distracting others. Consequences include detention, parent contact, and removal from class or lab for violations.

3. Be in your seat when
the bell rings.
Tardy Policy: If you are tardy, a tardy will
be placed in powergrade. Upon the 3rd
tardy, the office will complete a referral
form; you will go to ISS.

4. Treat our books, classroom, desks, and
equipment with care and respect.

5. No eating in the classroom or lab
(water only).

6. No personal grooming during
class (make-up, brushes).

7. No horseplay in class.
You are in HIGH School, and we
have HIGH expectations.

8. Students are expected to treat the
teacher and each other with respect.
Disrespect will result in a
“discussion”in the hall
and contact with parents.

9. Minor disruptions/problems will result
in copying a paper or a 20 minute
detention, or both. (We will set the
detention date before leaving class.)
Failure to show up for detention results in:
1st a phone call home, documentation, and you will
be given a 2nd opportunity to serve a 20 minute
detention.
2nd completion of a referral form after failing to show
a 2nd time and parent contact.

10. I believe in parent contact.
You may be calling your parents.
One or both of us will be
calling home.

11. Absolutely no horseplay during lab activity.
Lab Consequences:
Removed from lab group and seated.
Complete a written report on topic to
receive credit.

15. If a person asks for a pencil, pass
it to them. Do not throw any objects.
DETENTION

16. Gain permission to exit your seat.

17. We’ll call your parents and explain
that cell phones are not to be out.
If you need the time, ask the teacher.
If you seriously need to talk to your parents:
1) change in plans
2) forgot gym clothes
3) need to apologize
ASK and I may be able to assist you.

18. Football practice is not always fun, but
I bet your coach would not let you sleep.
Go to sleep at night & keep your head up.

20. What if the dog eats your assignment?

21. If you have an excused absence, you have 5 days
to turn in your assignments.
If you do not turn it your work within the 5 day period, you
may attend morning tutoring to complete work. Late work
may be accepted after attending morning tutoring. Late work
must be completed within 15 school days after assigned.
A zero will be placed into powergrade until assignments are
Completed.

22. 1st Period 3rd Period 4th Period
If you have been absent and wish to get your
assignments, WAIT until instruction or directions
have been given. If you are early to class, check
the box before class begins. Otherwise wait.

This sheet must be the 1st sheet in your notebook.
If I must visit your group to get
you to begin or to participate,
your score drops to 3. Place
a zero if told to do so.

(after all they’re my group)
NO! That’s called cheating.
