How Race, Age and Gender Shape Attitudes Towards Mental HealthThinkNow
Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).
AI Trends in Creative Operations 2024 by Artwork Flow.pdfmarketingartwork
Creative operations teams expect increased AI use in 2024. Currently, over half of tasks are not AI-enabled, but this is expected to decrease in the coming year. ChatGPT is the most popular AI tool currently. Business leaders are more actively exploring AI benefits than individual contributors. Most respondents do not believe AI will impact workforce size in 2024. However, some inhibitions still exist around AI accuracy and lack of understanding. Creatives primarily want to use AI to save time on mundane tasks and boost productivity.
Organizational culture includes values, norms, systems, symbols, language, assumptions, beliefs, and habits that influence employee behaviors and how people interpret those behaviors. It is important because culture can help or hinder a company's success. Some key aspects of Netflix's culture that help it achieve results include hiring smartly so every position has stars, focusing on attitude over just aptitude, and having a strict policy against peacocks, whiners, and jerks.

Google's Just Not That Into You: Understanding Core Updates & Search IntentLily Ray
1. Core updates from Google periodically change how its algorithms assess and rank websites and pages. This can impact rankings through shifts in user intent, site quality issues being caught up to, world events influencing queries, and overhauls to search like the E-A-T framework.
2. There are many possible user intents beyond just transactional, navigational and informational. Identifying intent shifts is important during core updates. Sites may need to optimize for new intents through different content types and sections.
3. Responding effectively to core updates requires analyzing "before and after" data to understand changes, identifying new intents or page types, and ensuring content matches appropriate intents across video, images, knowledge graphs and more.

klappet ud af et stående pub-
likum og et par svedende pop-
konger.
“I aften er jeg ikke shama-
nen – jeg er bare gæst,” lyder
kommentaren fra Kristian
Leth, da jeg spørger ham, om
det ikke er svært at forlade sce-
nen,nårbifaldetingenendevil
tage.
Men han kender sin besø-
gelsestid. Denne søndag er
det kun et enkelt nummer,der
skal fremføres, og dagen efter
er der en dokumentar,der skal
klippes, et møde der skal hol-
des, og tre børn, der skal afle-
veres i skole og daginstitution.
Derfor kun en enkelt øl.
“Jeg bliver meget sjældent
fuld, det kan jeg simpelthen
ikke finde ud af,” forklarer
manden, der kun går i byen,
når han spiller med sit band,
The William Blakes.
“Jeg er heldig, at jeg har et
band, så kommer jeg da lidt
ud. Men når det sker, så er det
med mine bedste venner. Det
er genialt,” siger han.
På konstant udforskning
Men 33-årige Kristian Leth
lever på ingen måde et stille
liv.
skuespiller Hanne Uldal.
Han er for længst trådt ud
af sine forældres skygger med
et curriculum vitae, der kan
vække janteloven hos de fle-
ste. Som ophavsmand til seks
pladeudgivelserogtodigtsam-

ambition at udforske,” forkla-
rer han og erkender,at det kan
lyde corny, når han tilføjer, at
han laver kunst for sig selv –
og først bagefter tænker på
markedsføringen.
For han ønsker hver eneste
gang at skabe noget, der er
større end ham selv. Det fal-
der dog ikke altid i god jord
hos kritikerne, der har svært
ved at sætte kunstneren i bås.
“Hvis jeg begynder at be-
kymremigom,hvadandrefolk
mener om det, jeg laver, så er
jegfærdig,”siger KristianLeth.
Farvel smartphone
To dage efter koncerten luk-
ker Kristian Leth døren op
til sit kontor et sted på Bryg-
gen i København. Han holder
en gammel Nokia-telefon til
øret. En journalist fra Kriste-
ligt Dagblad i den anden ende
vil gerne høre, hvad folkekir-
kens største udfordringer er i
øjeblikket. Dagbladet har rin-
get til ham, fordi han er aktuel
medenrækkeprogrammerom
trosretninger på DR K.
Han bruger ti minutters ta-
lestrøm uden afbrydelser på at
besvare spørgsmålet.Så er det
min tur til at få svar på mit.
For jeg har ikke forstået,
hvordan han kan lave otte
dybdegående tv-programmer
om trosretninger,fem prisvin-
dende radioprogrammer om
Richard Wagners livsværk
på DR P2 og nå
på feltrejse i Pa-
pua Ny Guineas
jungle på under
seks måneder –
uden at forsøm-
me familien.
“Hvis du ikke
kan lave kunst
eller journalistik
på bestilling, så
er det jo bare en
hobby,”lyder det
kækt fra Kristian
Leth–numeden
Kings-cigaret i
mundvigen.
I oktober
modtoghanDR’s
særsprogpris for
sin fem gange 70 minutters
radiofortælling af Richard
Wagners“NiebelungensRing”.
Projektet tog ham mindre end
otte uger.
“Jeg forsøger at arbejde fra
kl. 9-16. Det kan jeg gøre, dels
fordi jeg producerer meget,og
dels fordi jeg ikke spilder min
tid,” siger kunstneren, der er
stor tilhænger af drastiske
valg.
Hanharblandtandetskaffet
sig af med sin smartphone og
besvarer kun mail i almindelig
kontortid fra sin computer.
“Med min smartphone
havde jeg konstant en dårlig
samvittighed, når jeg ikke fik
svaretmeddetsamme.Dethar
jeg ikke længere,og det gør,at
jeg kan holde fokus på mit ar-
bejde,” siger Kristian Leth.
Og det er vigtigt for ham.
Med en stor familie skal man
lære at prioritere rigtigt, for-
tæller kunst-
neren, der er
gift med film-
instruktør Tea
Lindeburg.
Sammen har de
tre børn i på to
på seks og ti år.
“Grundlæg-
gende ved jeg,
hvad der er vig-
tigst her i livet,
og det er jeg
aldrig i tvivl om.
Det er min fa-
milie. Så når det
kommer til et
clash, så er be-
slutningentaget
påforhånd.Såer
det arbejdet, der må vige – al-
drig familien,” siger Kristian
Leth. Og tilføjer så, at jeg al-
drig får ham til at sige, at ka-
gebagningmedbørneneerlige
så vigtigt som at spille guitar.
“Egentlig er jeg ligeglad
med, hvad andre mener om
min familie. De kan rende
mig i røven. Der er alligevel
ikke andre end mine venner
og familie,der kommer tæt på
os.Men jeg vil selv have,at jeg
både kan se mig selv og mine
unger i øjnene. Jeg ville føle
det som et kæmpe nederlag
senere hen, hvis jeg ikke var
hos mine unger, mens de var
små. De mænd, der siger, at
små børn alligevel ikke mær-
ker, hvis de er meget væk, de
mænd er nogle svagpissere.”
Som travl familiefar kan der
dog snige sig problemer ind,
som udfordrer grundholdnin-
gen, medgiver han.
“Vi snakker om at lave en ny
Williams Blakes-plade (Kri-
stian Leths band, red.) til
marts. Det første, jeg tænker
på, er, hvordan hænger det
sammen med Teas kalender.
Vi ved begge, at vi kan køre
hinanden tynde,hvis vi lægger
vores projekter oven i hinan-
den. Men når jeg tjekker med
hende først, betyder det, at
hun altid siger; “Fedt mand, I
skal da lave den plade. Der er
ikke nogen kamp,” siger Kri-
stian Leth.
Jeg tager ungerne
Han forklarer videre, at nøg-
len til at undgå kampene der-
hjemme er en reel interesse
for de projekter, ens bedre
halvdel brænder for.
“Hvis man er to sammen,så
må den andens projekter også
være ens egne projekter. Man
kan ikke adskille de to ting.
Min hovedinteresse ved siden
af min egen er,at Teas arbejde
går godt. Det er et decideret
mål for mig.Næste gang er det
hende,der skal lave et projekt,
og så får hun da en high five,
og jeg tager ungerne de næste
to måneder.”
Med den holdning er det
muligt for Kristian Leth at
tage to uger ud af kalenderen
og rejse til Papua Ny Guinea
for at lave optagelser til en
radiodokumentar, som han
netop er vendt hjem fra. Her
så han blandt andet, hvordan
unge drenge bliver snittet i
huden over hele kroppen for
at efterligne krokodillens hud.
Det er blot et at mange over-
...Kristian Leths
dobbeltliv
Familien kommer
først. Så selvom
Kristian Leth
konstant har
gang i massevis
af projekter
på samme tid,
så pakker han
sammen kl. 16

kontakter.Jeg har aldrig nævnt eller brugt det
over for nogen.
fars seneste to film (“Jeg taler til jer – John
kender min familie,” siger Kristian Leth
I dag bliver Kristian Leth oftere genkendt
sammen.

fra den prisbelønnede dokumentarfilm“Ghosts of Cité So-
Cité Soleil i Haitis hovedstad Port-au-Prince.
