olio [oh-lee-oh] noun: a mixture of elements
The brief was to create a nomenclature
synonymous to the unique proposition of a new
hotel chain - high-tech and modern, with an
amalgamation of elements available to buisness
travellers in a no frills, 5 star environment. The
proposed hotel chain would primarily be based in
various parts of Indonesia.
The logo iconography is inspired by the
Indonesian Ikat, fabric made from a pattern
tie-dyed before weaving. Deconstructed, the
essence if this artisinal craft is balanced with a
technology driven aesthetic in a forthright
character.
The aim is to create an iconography that allows for
systematic brand expansion, allowing each
individual sub-brand to have its unique identity
whilst still entwined in the overall brand fabric.
