A robot is a machine that is programmed to perform tasks automatically. The document discusses the building stage of creating a Lego Mindstorm NXT robot. Key components include the NXT brick which acts as the programmable computer brain, servos that provide movement, and various sensors that provide input. Students are divided into teams to begin constructing their first robot by applying what they learned about the basic building blocks and keeping the NXT brick accessible before moving to the programming stage.
This document provides instructions for programming Lego Mindstorm NXT robots. It explains that students will first build a starting robot but it needs a program to function. Students learn to think like a computer uses algorithms by having one student act as a blindfolded robot taking verbal directions from a programmer. The basics of NXT programming are then covered, including movement blocks, sound blocks, switch blocks, wait functions, and loops. Students are instructed to collect distance data to accurately program movement distances and then compete by programming their robot to complete an obstacle course. Additional design resources are also provided.

This event was a culmination of six months of listening to your feedback and crafting solutions to better support your PMI journey. Here’s a look back at what happened and the exciting developments that emerged from our collaborative efforts.

We were thrilled to see a diverse group of attendees, including local certified PMI trainers and both new and experienced members eager to contribute their perspectives. The workshop was structured into three dynamic discussion sessions, each led by our dedicated membership advocates.
