Design Vision
The spaces we occupy define us and represent
who we are as individuals.
My goal is to design for every client utilizing
nature and the elements therein. By
manipulating natural light, movement of air
and energy the function and comfort of the

Autism Research Center
AREA PLAN FLOOR PLAN
Autism Research Facility – Concept Statement The main focus for the research facility is to address the elements
that create sensitivity issues in the patients in order to properly assess and initiate individual appropriate programs
for them. Environmentally friendly design is always in the forefront. Lighting in the rooms will consist primarily of
natural light and some soft colorful LED lighting. The sound will be toned appropriately by placing openings and
utilizing sound proofing materials on the floors, walls and ceilings of each room. Beds will be tent-like structures to
provide a secure feeling for the patient. In addition the rooms will provide tactile experiences and energy exuding
activities, including climbing, and spaces to immerse themselves in different elements such as ball pits. Additional
bedding will be placed for family members in the form of murphy beds and a bunk bed. Whenever possible, repur-
posed, recycled and sustainable materials will be utilized.

Project Goals
The first and most beneficial goal of this
project is to ensure the patient is able to
relax and function well in the facility.
The second goal of this project is to cre-
ate a floor plan that allows the staff to
easily exam and observe the patient in a
controlled environment. The third goal is
to allow the family to interact positively
with the patient and the staff in order to
assist in the implementation of a proper

On The Rocks Restaurant
On the Rocks Concept Statement: On the Rocks will be
based on the power of the ocean, bringing to light
the crisp fresh air of the northern Atlantic and Pa-
cific and the seafood they provide. Waves, cool
air and overall placement of furnishings and light-
ing will instantly give patrons the feeling of fish-
ing towns in the Northern United States where
fishing is not only a passion but a way of life.
