DORMSSHENESE LANGLOIS
The word TRANSITION is used for the inspiration in the creation of this dorm. I used the
transition of a rough rock thrown into a river. The river is representing the school of
knowledge; the rough rock represents the new unpolished student. Over the course of a
few years in the river of school the rough rock transitions to a smooth surfaced rock
created by the smoothing of the water or rather the knowledge; you are left with a
smooth river rock. The transition from rough to smooth in the three floors of the dorms;
the first level demonstrates rough surfaces with different levels of indentations on the
exterior walls, the second floor utilises a thinner and more polished indentations, and the
third floor incorporates a very smooth finish
