India has a population of 1.21 billion people that grew 17.64% in the last decade, making it currently the second most populous country behind China. While India's large population is often seen as a weakness, it can actually be an economic strength by providing a massive workforce that enables rapid economic growth, as seen in China, through taking advantage of demographic dividends and creating large domestic markets. To fully leverage its demographic opportunity, India needs inclusive growth by investing more resources in health, education, and social sectors, and using technology to optimize resource yields.
