What is a Polygon ?! * A polygon is a figure that is made up of straight, connected line segments. Proper polygons do not have any breaks in any of the line segments. These are polygons : These are NOT polygons : dodecagon oval crescent rounded quadrilateral quadrilateral pentagon
Regular Polygons Polygons that are classified as a “regular” polygon contains line segments and angles that are all equal to each other. This is a regular polygon: This is NOT a regular polygon: Quadrilateral Quadrilateral
Irregular Polygons Polygons that are classified as an “irregular” polygon contains line segments and angles that are not equal to each other. These are irregular polygons because all of the lines and angles are not equal to each other. Triangle Quadrilateral
