Sell Product and service
 A big aspect of marketing is positioning product or service to be sold and
finding an audience for it.
 Selling is one of the fundamental building blocks of becoming a marketer.
 Spending time in a position where we had to convince customer not to
cancel a service is a major key of selling.
Communication
 Communication is very important, and it also helps us find our what are
customer wants and needs.
 Understanding the nuances of communication is a big advantage because
not everyone knows what they said they do know.
 With interpersonal communication, we’re able to understand how other
people communicate.
Writing
 Writing is a very important key when I am a marketer.
 It’s incredibly useful to have a basic understanding of how to write a copy
as a marketer.
 Writing is just another form of communication.
 If we want our emails and ads to be successful, we have to master our skill
of writing as a marketer.
Writing continued…
 Writing has three main basic formula.
 Attention, interest, and action.
 First find a way to get customer attention.
 Second, you get them to have interest in your marketing.
 Finally, you provide a call to action that prompts an immediate response.
Ideating and testing
 Only believing that a certain idea will work, it doesn’t mean it will be a hit.
 And believing an idea will not work, doesn’t mean it will fail.
 Testing is very important in marketing world.
 Because only then you know if an idea will work or not.
 To sell products and services, it is important to create ads in different
demographic regions.
 This helps marketer to track down what strategies work to sell the
products.
Having patience
 Patience is very important in this line.
 The amount of time a product, business, service can fail is unnumbered.
 At least give few weeks, split tests, and it will gain success.
 It is very important to give space and time to the product to reach higher
level of audience.
 Spending few days and expecting to gain attention is a red flag in the
marketing business.
Being able to interpret data
 The process of using different methods to review data and arrive at
relevant conclusion is very important.
 It helps us with categorizing, manipulate, and summarize the information.
 This keeps things in order to answer critical questions.
Implement what you learn
 As much as it is to do marketing, it is also important to find ways to
implement knowledge you gather which on the journey to create a
successful business.
 For example- if I want to starting a restaurant, I should volunteer to
implement my new skills in content marketing.
 Trying to work with supervisors and employees helps to put new skills in
our current position.
Stay up to date
 In marketing field, it is important to know what’s going on around the
world regarding the product or service you are working on.
 Staying up-to-date on diverse topics regarding the marketing helps to
guide us and makes our business much successful.
 Keep track on companies and emerging trends by following them on social
media platforms like Facebook, twitter, etc.
 This helps to know customer wants/needs much faster than anything else
and it helps to stay ahead in the business.
