Another fun open invitation project on Facebook. I created My Little Fairy using a vintage photo from a post card, added wings from a Warwick Goeble print, and put it up on Facebook. I invited people to download the figure, and insert it into their photos
This is the text of Leopold's essay "Draba" paired with beautiful images. This presentation can be used as a backdrop to help illustrate public readings of the essay.
Students were given a poetry project to complete in one week. The project consisted of creating a newspaper blackout poem, a haiku from Haikubes, an acrostic, labeling poetic devices used in song lyrics, and imitating one poem from five collected by different poets. The students were asked to reflect on the imitation poem and the project.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
Thompson Elementary School Poems in the Library January 2014
1. A SELECTION OF POETRY
From January 13th through
17th, 2014, Thompson students (grades 2 – 5)
were introduced to the book, Heart to Heart:
New Poems inspired by Twentieth-Century
American Art, edited by Jan Greenberg. They
were then asked to take up to fifteen minutes to
write their own poems. These poems are but a
few examples of the amazing creativity that
came from this activity. Enjoy!
2. Mermaid
Mermaids swim down
The deep, deep ocean.
One mermaid is named Korar.
When the people come,
They use a magic stick
To make a storm so the people
Can’t see them.
Anna
3. Brooklyn Bridge
Glows at night
Like a stained-glass window.
Tiny cars zooming by.
Almost an arch.
Not quite an A.
Brooklyn Bridge.
Amanda
4. Silver
Silver is
the night
of a
full moon
with millions
of stars
lighting the
dark night.
Silver is
an owl
gliding
through
the trees
swiftly
dodging
their
branches.
Silver
is
a pond
with the
moon sparkling
down
on to
it.
Silver
is
swift.
Silver is calm.
Silver
is
your
soul.
Who
is
silver?
Silver
is
me.
Selby
7. Soccer
Soccer
Soccer
Soccer
The best thing
In the world
Soccer
Soccer
Soccer
The greatest
Thing I ever heard.
I can go outside
And play all
Day long and if I
Kick the ball
It’s long gone.
Anthony
8. The Quiet Night
The sun goes down.
The moon comes out.
The quiet night comes.
Lights go out in houses.
The night sleeps
No sound to be heard
Only the sound of
hooting.
In quiet time,
The moon shines
Over the dreaming kids,
Dreaming good dreams.
The town is asleep now.
Animals come out
To have a party.
Isabelle O.
9. Books
There is one thing
That makes me say
“Look!”
A book.
Big and small
Short and tall
All and all
A book is
The best thing ever!
Kaira
11. A Tent on Fire
A tent on fire
Oh, no!
It is burning hard.
Let’s get out!
Get your stuff.
If you get on fire,
Stop, drop and shout!
Ian R.
12. Winter Snow
Winter snow so white and dear.
Prancing over the snow is a deer.
Running toward me, I tremble with fear.
I hear the footsteps, louder and louder they get.
I’m still in fear, a tear drips from my eye.
Sadie C.
13. Out in the Garden
Out in the garden
Where butterflies fly,
Not one cloud I can see
Up in the sky.
Out in the garden
Where fruits and flowers
grow,
The sky, like a river,
Where the clouds will flow.
Out in the garden
Sitting by the stream
The sun’s light
Is shining light
Shaped like a beacon.
Out in the garden
Where butterflies fly,
I look up and see
Clouds so high.
Fiona
14. The ice came growing
As the night began to blow.
You may have feared
That something was weird
‘Cause everything has a beard.
Sticking on the wall are hairs
That could have been a beard
Inside the house were weird faces furred
On the window were bugs that are nerds
For having a big, big beard.
John Y.
18. An acrobat swinging through the air
Cats
Rats
Open window
Seven eyes, seven noses, one you
Time for bed
I’m waiting
Center of your heart
Kiley B-S
19. Rain
Rain, rain you fall so light
When you drop to the ground
So tight to pull you
Out of the mossy cracks
The droplet of the 10+ dancer
Jump, splash, squash
Aaaaaahhhh.
I am a dead droplet!!!
Nnnnnooooo.
Anna-Sophia
21. Kittens
Kitten, kitten so cute
I love cute kittens.
Take kittens from mama, don’t!
Take kittens from the shelter.
Equal to cats, yes, yes!
No being mean to kittens.
So cute, kittens!
Fiona
22. Space
Space is black as a powered down room.
But it has night lights
Called the stars.
Ethan
23. Little lines big lines
Inside lines outside lines
No lines is nothing
Everything is made out of lines
So use lines.
Zoe B

Daniel JZM
33. Nature
Blue sky up above
Red sun in the sky
Green grass down below
Purple flowers standing still
Gray clouds block the sun.
Sofia S
34. Girl Scout
Girls are the best
I play and rest
Really, really fun
Love playing in the sun
Super duper cool
Candy in a pool
Outstanding making pies
Unicorns and butterflies
Today I’m the luckiest ever to live.
Tanisa
37. Houses, houses along the street.
Chimneys, vents, pipes
above and below your feet.
It is where you live,
Family to houses.
Houses along the street.
