The document discusses celebrating Christmas by focusing on the religious meaning of Christ's birth rather than consumerism and materialism. It suggests finding creative non-material ways to show loved ones you care and using money saved from less spending to help those in need.
The document discusses the issue of people not donating to help starving children despite constant media messages encouraging donations. It notes that people often think someone else will help, but if everyone thinks that way then no one will help. The document argues people should feel a sense of urgency to help starving kids even without seeing them in person. It also notes that charities use images of innocent babies to elicit emotions from viewers and stir the public to help. Finally, it suggests that even small donations from many people could greatly help thousands of starving children worldwide.
The document provides tips for helping children fall in love with nature:
1) Simply taking a walk around the block and noticing natural sights like butterflies or clouds can foster a child's awe of nature.
2) Allowing children to interact with nature, even just splashing in puddles or fishing, helps them learn and develop skills for navigating risk.
3) Cultivating wonder in nature by letting children observe and engage with plants and wildlife in their environment, such as through gardening, can form lasting connections to the outdoors and environment.

People should support this charity because it saves animal lives every day and stops cruelty, working to end animal neglect forever. The dogs receive therapy to overcome fears or aggression and are then adopted by caring owners.
We are delighted that the inspirational cook Laura Santtini has offered to come in and cook with the students at Collingham on a Monday morning. The students have enjoyed working with a ‘famous cook and writer’ and their enthusiasm for cooking has increased week by week - making pasta from scratch had the students marvelling at the long process and the sight of spaghetti hanging all over the dining room like washing was a revelation to them – this experience has been a whole curriculum – as they begin to discover the science and maths of cooking their enthusiasm has grown – they are also keen to describe in writing the taste and smells of cooking – Some of the quotes from the students include – ‘I love working with a famous Chef’ – ‘It feels so special to have a real Chef teaching us ‘ ‘Laura deserves a Michelin Star’ - we hope to put together a book about ’16 things that everybody should know how to cook’ – and include the students responses to this experience

What was the impact on women's suffrage in 1920?cassandraoller
The document summarizes the history of the women's suffrage movement in the United States from 1848 to 1920. It discusses key events like the Seneca Falls Convention which first demanded women's right to vote. It took decades of activism by reformers to ratify the 19th amendment in 1920 granting women the right to vote. The movement was divided at times, such as over the 15th amendment that granted voting rights to black men but not women. [/SUMMARY]
The document discusses the suffrage movement in Great Britain. While women paid taxes, they did not have the right to vote. Some argued that even prisoners and "lunatics" could vote, so why not women? However, many opposed women's suffrage, viewing women as too emotional for politics. Early campaigners called suffragists used peaceful tactics, but faced opposition from political parties. This frustration led to more radical suffragettes, who used violence and vandalism. Though some bills were proposed, none passed. Suffragettes escalated their campaign with bombs and arson, leading to arrests. Hunger strikes in prison won sympathy. World War I suspended campaigns, but awareness was raised, hastening women's
Women gained the right to vote in the UK in 1928 due to changing social attitudes towards women's roles and abilities, pressure from suffrage groups using both peaceful and violent tactics, women's contributions during World War 1, and other countries granting women's suffrage. Key factors included women entering the workforce in increasing numbers, the suspension of militant suffragette campaigns during the war to support the war effort, political motivations within the Liberal party to undermine the rising Labour party, and other British dominions granting women the vote earlier. However, the path to women's suffrage was gradual and not all women received equal voting rights in 1918.
This document provides information about the Suffragettes and Suffragists who campaigned for women's right to vote in the late 19th and early 20th centuries in the UK. It explains that the Suffragists used peaceful methods like petitions, meetings, and marches, while the Suffragettes, led by Emmeline Pankhurst, engaged in more militant tactics like interrupting debates, chaining themselves to railings, smashing windows, and setting fires when they did not receive the vote. While both groups aimed to secure women's suffrage, the document evaluates that the Suffragettes' willingness to use violence made them more effective in bringing attention to their cause.
The document summarizes the history of the feminist movement through its three waves. The first wave from the 18th to early 20th century fought for women's right to vote. The second wave from the 1960s to 1980s battled for social, cultural, and gender equality. The third wave from the 1990s to today responds to the failures of previous waves and campaigns for greater women's political influence. It then focuses on the Suffragettes movement in the UK led by Emmeline Pankhurst that used militant tactics like vandalism and hunger strikes to fight for women's suffrage, or right to vote.
The Suffragists were a pressure group formed in 1897 called the National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies (NUWSS) led by Millicent Fawcett. They used peaceful protest methods like petitions, newspaper publications, and large processions to campaign for women's right to vote. Their membership grew from 13,000 in 1909 to over 100,000 by 1913 as they worked to gain support from politicians and political parties. While they had some successes in raising awareness, their peaceful tactics proved insufficient to change the law, and women did not gain the right to vote until after World War I.
The Women's Suffrage Movement began in 1848 at a tea party where Elizabeth Cady Stanton expressed her discontent with the fact that voting rights were limited only to white male property owners. This led to the first Women's Rights Convention being held in Seneca Falls, New York that same year. The movement faced significant backlash from newspapers and critics who felt women should not have the right to vote. Key figures like Susan B. Anthony and Sojourner Truth campaigned tirelessly over decades to raise awareness and support for women's suffrage, culminating in the passage and ratification of the 19th amendment in 1920, which guaranteed all American women the right to vote.
YoungMinds is a UK charity committed to improving the mental health of children and young people. They discuss building resilience in schools through their Sparks project, which aims to promote inclusion and celebrate diversity. They explain that risk and protective factors can impact children's mental health, but resilience involves facing adversity and having emotionally available support from caring adults and relationships. The document emphasizes approaches like focusing on students' strengths, empowering them, and understanding behaviors as communication to help children overcome challenges.

Reggae originated in Jamaica in 1969 and was preceded by earlier pop styles like ska. Reggae songs have four basic elements - a repeated bass guitar riff, percussion rhythm, chords on the second and fourth beats, and serious lyrics. Ska began in the late 1950s and combined American R&B with Jamaican folk music mento. Rock steady emerged around 1965 as a slowed down version of ska with a more prominent bass guitar. Modern Jamaican music includes dancehall/bashment styles popular in the 1970s-80s performed by artists like Vybz Kartel, as well as legendary reggae musician Bob Marley known for hits from the 1970s until his death in 1981.
The document provides a history of Jamaican music styles including ska, rock steady, and reggae. It discusses the origins and characteristics of each style. Cell Therapy Expansion and Challenges in Autoimmune DiseaseHealth Advances
There is increasing confidence that cell therapies will soon play a role in the treatment of autoimmune disorders, but the extent of this impact remains to be seen. Early readouts on autologous CAR-Ts in lupus are encouraging, but manufacturing and cost limitations are likely to restrict access to highly refractory patients. Allogeneic CAR-Ts have the potential to broaden access to earlier lines of treatment due to their inherent cost benefits, however they will need to demonstrate comparable or improved efficacy to established modalities.
In addition to infrastructure and capacity constraints, CAR-Ts face a very different risk-benefit dynamic in autoimmune compared to oncology, highlighting the need for tolerable therapies with low adverse event risk. CAR-NK and Treg-based therapies are also being developed in certain autoimmune disorders and may demonstrate favorable safety profiles. Several novel non-cell therapies such as bispecific antibodies, nanobodies, and RNAi drugs, may also offer future alternative competitive solutions with variable value propositions.
Widespread adoption of cell therapies will not only require strong efficacy and safety data, but also adapted pricing and access strategies. At oncology-based price points, CAR-Ts are unlikely to achieve broad market access in autoimmune disorders, with eligible patient populations that are potentially orders of magnitude greater than the number of currently addressable cancer patients. Developers have made strides towards reducing cell therapy COGS while improving manufacturing efficiency, but payors will inevitably restrict access until more sustainable pricing is achieved.
Despite these headwinds, industry leaders and investors remain confident that cell therapies are poised to address significant unmet need in patients suffering from autoimmune disorders. However, the extent of this impact on the treatment landscape remains to be seen, as the industry rapidly approaches an inflection point.
