Planned Parenthood provides a range of reproductive health services including contraception, STD testing and treatment, cancer screening, and abortion. However, abortion is a controversial service that has led some government officials to try to cut Planned Parenthood's funding. While Planned Parenthood is criticized for abortion, it also provides important educational and medical services to low-income communities for issues like sexual health, birth control, and relationships. The document argues that eliminating Planned Parenthood would negatively impact people's access to these important healthcare services.

While most workshops were providing instructive guidance on the care of orphans and vulnerable children both at home and around the world, ours focused on the prevention side; that is, how can we stop the orphan crisis before it begins? How can we turn the tide over the next two decades?

17. Conclusion
Planned parenthood is more to the community than a place
to get an abortion. This organization provides many
necessary and vital services to local members of the
community who may not otherwise be able to afford
preventative services. What we need to do is educate
people about Planned Parenthood and equip our citizens
with the correct information so that they can make better
and more informed decisions for their families.

Editor's Notes
John Kyle- Arizona R- made statements that abortion was 90% of what Planned Parenthood does. The actual number is closer to three percent. Indiana- There is already a law in place prohibiting the use of Medicaid for abortions, but this makes it more difficult for low income women to receive prenatal care and other services needed just because PP is an abortion provider. Another important service that has an impact on the community is testing for Sexually Transmitted Infections, to include HIV testing.
Planned Parenthood provides a very important educational role in the community. Regardless of the social issue is, they advertise themselves as an educational resource for parents, teens, concerned citizens, etc.
