- Sample management Involves the general managing of frozen samples (eg plasma, serum or urine) that are destined for analysis by central labs eg Immunochemistry, Bioanalytical Project Goals 55,559 samples disposed of, most of them were tox but some were Ichem and BioA as there were some backlog Spreadsheet created detailing nearly all the backlog tox studies – including vital information eg. study finalisation dates, SD, disposal confirmation, disposal status - all info needed about a study to dispose of it effectively and efficiently. - Enjoyed working as a team and an equal member, helped out with sample management day to day processes as well as working on own project – split time. - Experience of starting a new job within a varied team of ages, experience and nationalities. Balancing life when committed to work 9till5 5 days a week, a step up from university life, you have to actually go Seeing what learning in lectures and how it actually fit into real world examples such as the drug development process Uni has definitely helped me grasp the workings of the different departments easy and see the company as a whole. Many departments at Covance with a variation of job, mostly lab based But experience gained in CRO/pharmaceutical industry can lead onto bigger things eg Shaun Having worked at the company before and know the site, a desirable that would put at an advantage over peers, security checks etc.
