The double-blind study involved 100 participants aged 65-80 who were given either the drug or a placebo daily for 6 months. Researchers found that those who received the drug performed significantly better on memory and problem-solving tests at the end of the study compared to those who received the placebo.

The document discusses the decisions that a community church has made to define itself. It says the church has decided that merely teaching doctrine or having good programs is not enough, but that it needs transformation and experiences of God. It aims to be led by the Holy Spirit with signs and wonders, living out acts of faith rather than just reading about them. The church sees itself as a mission station rather than a museum, settling for nothing less than advancing God's kingdom.
A workshop on how newsrooms can create community networks with local bloggers and other groups to boost their content offerings and audience. Delivered at APME's Newstrain March 23-24, 2012.
Jesus teaches that Christians should avoid meaningless or abusive oaths, as truthfulness should come from the sincerity of one's heart rather than any oath. While God instituted oaths and Jesus and Paul took oaths when needed, the focus should be on simply telling the truth in all situations through having a truthful heart, rather than invoking oaths to try to add weight to one's statements. Christians are free to take oaths when properly needed, but the emphasis is on cultivating truthfulness through one's character rather than any verbal formula.

Demystifying analytics in e discovery white paper 06-30-14Steven Toole
The document discusses analytics technologies used in eDiscovery and information governance. It describes how analytics can help reduce document review costs by identifying relevant documents through techniques like clustering, conceptual search, and auto-categorization. Applying analytics to proactively organize a company's electronic records before litigation arises helps keep costs low and investigations more efficient. The key benefit of analytics is reducing the number of non-relevant documents reviewers need to examine, thereby saving time and money in the discovery process.

It enforces consistent security policies across systems, automates user provisioning and access based on defined roles, and streamlines compliance reporting to reduce costs.
This document lists three room numbers: Room 2, Room 3, and Room 4. No other details are provided about the rooms, their purpose, size, or contents. The document simply enumerates three room numbers in list form.
How to use social media and onsite tools to locate expert and "real people" sources, for crowdsourcing using advanced search features on major social media sites, and how to curate social media content to augment your own content. Originally presented at APME's Newstrain in Springfield, IL.
This is a very short (5 minute) overview of some of the more prevalent ideas for how journalism could be funded in the future. I presented this at an Ignite event in fall 2009.
The document provides advice for starting a new business or project from Sachin Gupta, co-founder of HackerEarth. The key points are to focus on execution rather than just having a good idea, do what you are good at instead of what seems cool, and have the courage to do things that scare you. It also emphasizes solving real problems for customers, investing in people, and maintaining a work-life balance through passion, fun, fitness and accepting change.
The document discusses various aspects of managing accounts receivable and requesting payment from customers. It includes sample letters requesting payment of overdue invoices, acknowledging receipt of payment, and providing explanations for delayed payments. The letters emphasize politely but firmly requesting settlement of outstanding balances by a specified deadline.
This document discusses using XS to create Perl modules that interface with C code. It provides examples of creating XS files for Foo::Bar and Foo::Baz modules, combining them in an XS.xs file, and building the modules using h2xs and Module::Install. The examples show compiling C code into XS files, building the modules, and calling the functions from Perl.
