Photography has evolved significantly since its invention. It began as a way to immortalize history but has since developed into different forms that reveal new perspectives. Macro photography shows the microscopic world invisible to the human eye. Landscape photography tells stories about the beauty of the natural world. Photojournalism documents important historical events and social issues through impactful images without words. Portraiture provides insights into individuals. Technological advances have improved the quality and uses of photographs across various applications like social media and identification. Overall, photography is an amazing tool that allows moments in time to be preserved and shared as an ongoing story.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.
2. Photography
“The good thing about pictures is that they never
change, even if the people in them do.”
-Unknown
3. What is
Photography?
Since the dawn of the
photographical invention, the
camera obscura, history has been
immortalised on a bit of
paper, behind a screen, in a
picture frame. As
we, humans, evolved as a
race, we found new ways of
capturing that special/destructive
moment, with little to no effort at
all.
4. Macro
“A picture is a secret about a secret, the more it tells
you, the less you know”
- Diana Arbus
5. What is Macro photography?
Landscape Macro
With macro photography, it’s not just about taking a photo, it’s about
taking a photo that reveals more than the human eye can see. The same
goes to landscape photography, but they both work in two different ways.
Landscape – Shows you the world that humans have seen, but don’t
know the beauty of it.
Macro – Shows you the world that insects and plants live, in high
definition.
7. Landscape
“There is an eternal landscape, a geography of the soul;
we search for its outlines all our lives.”
- Josephine Hart

Past Present
We use landscape as a means to tell a story of the world and it’s many
wonderful landmarks, landmarks that are still standing today.
For example, after the tsunami and earthquake hit Japan in 2011, March
11, the world stood in silence as they saw the images of destroyed
towns, homes, and livelihoods. Above is a key example of a once
mutilated car park back in 2011, and a present image of the same car
park.
10. What is Light Painting?
Étienne-Jules Marey and Georges Demenyin 1889
11. Panorama
“They almost ran me off the road several times.
There are so many chances that they
take to get the right photo.”
- Loni Anderson
12. What is Panorama?

13. Photojournalism
“In a way, if and individual assumes the risk of placing
himself in the middle of a war to communicate to the
rest of the world what's happening, he's trying to
negotiate for peace. Perhaps that's the reason for those
in charge of perpetuating the war do not like to have
photographers around.”
- James Nachtwey
14. What is Photojournalism
Past Present

Taken by: Eddie Adams London Riots.
Photojournalism was first coined in 1900’s, when a photographer, Lewis
Hine, was hired to document children working milling stations, through
photographs. Since then, Photojournalism has taken a path that tells a
painful, sad but highly informative story, without words.
15. Portrait
“What i like about photographs is that they capture a
moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce.”
- Karl Lagerfeld
16. What is a Portrait?
Past Present
John Lennon. Peace in 1980’s
Portraits have given a great insight to a certain individual, they have told
stories, secrets and made every single emotion, noticeable.
Technology now has given portraits a more higher standard in todays
world, social networks, identification, and much more.
17. What do I truly think
of Photography?
“Photography lets a person document moments in time and
keep them close to their hearts, it’s amazing to believe that
photography has developed much further and has managed
to capture glorious moments.
Like a Story that is forever being updated.”
- Jack Munro
